The couple talked and laughed as they drove to Zhao Anan’s western restaurant.
Since it was lunchtime, there were many people in the restaurant. Jing Yichen spotted a parking slot in the crowded parking lot and was about to drive in when another car rushed in, intending to take his place.
Jing Yichen’s face sunk. He rushed forward and parked the car right on the spot in an intimidating way.
He and Shangguan Ning walked out of the car.
With Shangguan Ning’s hands in his, Jing Yichen threw a cold look at the extremely aggressive black Cayenne.
The owner of the Cayenne cursed as he got out of the car, but was startled at the sight of Jing Yichen. Then he looked at the luxurious Aston Martin as well as the conspicuous number of A12345. He froze in fright.
The middle aged man no longer looked aggressive or arrogant. He lowered his head courteously. “Greeting Master Jing, I didn’t know that it was your car. I am so, so sorry to have offended you. Please, forgive me, I will never do that again.”
He was just apologizing in a low position when Shangguan Ning looked at the man surprisingly. She called out his name in an uncertain tone. “Principal Min?”
Min Feng looked up and his eyes widened at the sight of her. “Shangguan Ning!”
Family Min was not a very powerful family in A City, but was an aristocratic family in the neighborhood. They had a lot of business dealings with Family Jing. Although Min Feng had never seen Jing Yichen, he had heard about Jing Yichen numerous times from the leader of the Family and knew that he drove an exclusive and expensive sports car with a special number. He vaguely knew about his general appearance as well.
But the leader of Family Min had never heard of Jing Yichen’s wife. What he knew was that Jing Yichen, who never had a girlfriend before, loved his wife very much and kept her protected. She was a mysterious woman.
Min Feng saw Shangguan Ning holding hands with Jing Yichen and leaning against him so intimately. They must be close!
Could Shangguan Ning be the wife of the famous Jing Yichen, the lady of Family Jing?
That news shocked Min Feng enough to drop his mouth in astonishment.
Last winter, it had been him who fired Shangguan Ning from the school in person!
Min Feng was none other than the principal of University of X, Shangguan Ning and Zhao Anan’s boss. When Guo Shuai’s incident happened, Shangguan Ning had been framed as a teacher who seduced students, so he fired Shangguan Ning and Zhao Anan from the school immediately.
Min Feng sweated even more. The leader of Family Min had reminded him many times that any conflicts with anyone else in A City could be handled, except for Jing Yichen. If he or Family Jing were ever irritated, he would not get any protection from Family Min.
Jing Yichen didn’t know Min Feng but was not surprised to know that the man knew him. But he was surprised that Shangguan Ning knew this man in front of them.
Shangguan Ning introduced him to Jing Yichen, instantly. “This is Min Feng, the Principal of University of X. He used to be Anan’s and my boss.”
She sounded very unfriendly. Jing Yichen knew her well and could sense her irritation at this moment. So he frowned.
Finally, he was reminded of what had happened. Shangguan Ning and Zhao Anan were fired by University of X last winter and Zhao Anan’s cancer returned post that. So she went to Germany for treatment whilst Shangguan Ning went to Jingsheng.
When Min Feng didn’t return to the car, the rest of the people seated in Cayenne walked out as well.
There were four of them and Shangguan Ning knew all of them because they were the lecturers and professors of University of X, who used to be her colleagues.
They knew Shangguan Ning too. Due to the incident last winter, she had become a famous figure amongst the teachers, one who was talked about, for a long time even after she was fired.
These people didn’t know who Jing Yichen was but that didn’t prevent them from guessing his true identity. He had a super luxurious sports car plus a special number, and he looked charming. Therefore, he must belong to an extraordinary family.
What was more important was that Principal Min was behaving so courteously in front of him.
They knew something about Min Feng’s family background and knew that he feared nothing. They had never seen behaving in such a polite way in front of a young man.
Therefore, they smartly greeted Shangguan Ning in a friendly way.
“Long time no see, Shangguan. You are getting more and more beautiful!”
“Where are you working now? The students miss you so much. The principal spoke so highly of you just a couple of days ago and said that you were so capable and he wanted you back in the school.”
“Very true, Shangguan, we all miss you. Last year’s incident must have been a misunderstanding. Those students have already been punished fiercely.”
“Have you gotten married, Shangguan? You should have asked us to the banquet. So this is your husband? So handsome. You look cute together.”
Someone looking from the outside would get a feeling that Shangguan Ning had a very close relationship with these people.
But only Shangguan Ning knew that this was all fake.
They were never that close!
Also, they were so good at making up lies. Min Feng had fired her last year without a reason. It was an absolute lie that he wanted her back in school.
But acting was not a difficult thing to learn. She had picked up many acting skills from the queen of acting – Shangguan Rouxue!
Shangguan Ning spoke in a friendly way, “You all look really nice. Thank you for your concern. It is indeed a long time since we saw each other. I can treat you guys to a meal sometime. I was just startled by Principal Min’s actions just now. Sorry for being so timid!”
She sounded very friendly, but everyone present instantly understood that she was being sarcastic.
But she was wearing a smile on her and no one could pick on anything that she said. After all, it sounded logical.
Jing Yichen threw a cold glance at everyone and then turned to Min Feng as he said in an emotionless tone, “My wife was startled. You better stay out of my sight, or someone else will take over University of X.”
Having said the words, he turned around and walked into the restaurant with Shangguan Ning.
Min Feng and his fellows stood frozen on the spot.
They had never expected that Jing Yichen could be so arrogant, much more than even Min Feng!
Someone asked discreetly, “Principal, who is this man, how…”
How could he ever threaten to fire you??
Min Feng wiped off the sweat on his forehead and said nothing. Instead, he asked them to get into the car and drove off in an irritated mood to look for a restaurant elsewhere.
Min Feng dare not say anything about Jing Yichen’s identity.
When they saw that he wasn’t saying anything about him, they understood that he must be an extraordinary person.
If they ever ran into Shangguan Ning in the future, they would behave even friendlier than they did today!
