Anyone else in the world could sell her, but Jing Yichen would never do that.
Shangguan Ning felt calm and teased him with her lips pursed. “I am not so valuable. No one will want to buy me.”
“No, you are invaluable, and no one can afford it!” Jing Yichen looked calm but he said it intensely.
A smile hovered over Shangguan Ning’s face. She leaned in Jing Yichen’s arms and said lazily, “Why are we going to France? It is a working day and we have lots of things to deal with at the company.”
“Oh, I didn’t know that you, the newly-appointed Deputy President could be busier than the President himself. Should I give you a raise?” Jing Yichen liked it most when Shangguan Ning woke up in the morning. She looked charming, slightly lazy and cute. She tempted him.
He planted a kiss upon her cherry coloured lips and said, “I told you that I have a present for you. So I am showing it to you now.”
“Oh, did you buy the Eiffel Tower for me? Is that why we have to fly to France?”
Jing Yichen laughed and then pulled out a miniaturized Eiffel Tower from an exquisite box and gave it to her. “You are so smart. Yes, here it is!”
Shangguan Ning took the exquisitely made Eiffel Tower and laughed as surprise was visible in her eyes. “You really got one for me?”
“I wanted to give it to you when we reached France, but you figured out the answer ahead of time, so I had to give it to you now. Well, it seems that I have no presents to give to you when we reach there, so I need to buy more, let me see… what else can I give it to you?”
Shangguan Ning laughed again. She didn’t believe that Jing Yichen was taking her all the way to France just to give her a miniature Eiffel Tower.
It would need ten hours to reach France, so Jing Yichen took Shangguan Ning to the pilot’s cabin after she washed herself up, thinking that she would get bored otherwise.
“Wanna learn how to fly a plane?”
Shangguan Ning eyes widened but she replied quickly, “Yes!”
She always thought that being able to fly a plane would be a very cool thing to do. If she were to be a pilot, she will be able to fly to wherever she wanted to, in the world!
Jing Yichen explained about the process to her in detail and even asked the captain to demonstrate it to her, so that the plane kept moving up and down in the air, making Shangguan Ning scream. When Jing Yichen asked her to fly the plane herself, she turned down the offer immediately.
It was not a joking matter!
Could she be fit to fly the plane just by listening to Jing Yichen for an hour? She was not a genius like him who could master a concept after one round of demonstrations.
Even if he trusted her, she didn’t trust herself. Five people were on the plane, and it was not worth the risk.
Jing Yichen laughed and said, “It is okay. Just go ahead and try. I will be seated next to you. I will take over whenever you lose the grip. Trust me, there won’t be any problem.”
Shangguan Ning sat down onto the pilot’s seat after his constant persuasion. Shangguan Ning was very nervous.
She had forgotten everything Jing Yichen said to her a minute ago in panic. Her brain was blank!
The plane started to dangle back and forth and then started to descend straight down.
“Yichen!” Shangguan Ning screamed.
“Push the controller, lift the throttle valve and control the steering wheel with your feet!” Jing Yichen’s cool voice arose in the cabin. He still sounded calm as usual as if he was not concerned about the rapid descending.
Shangguan Ning got so nervous that she couldn’t even tell the right foot from the left. Hearing the alarm ringing from the cabin, she felt beads of sweat covering over her forehead and her back got completely drenched within seconds.
She pushed the controller in panic but stepped upon the steering wheel accidentally, and the plane turned to another direction and started to drop.
Jing Yichen smiled and eventually took over the control of the plane. Soon the plane went up steadily and got back to the original route.
Shangguan Ning let out a sigh of relief and then collapsed in the pilot’s seat. Her face was white as a sheet and her fingers were shivering.
Jing Yichen consoled her. “Silly girl, I am here, alright? All will be fine with me around.”
His heart ached when he saw her pale face. He kind of regretted asking her to try flying the plane now. He could be her pilot at all times and she didn’t need to learn it.
Shangguan Ning didn’t recover until a while later.
After she recovered, she struck hard upon Jing Yichen’s back. “You scared me to death. What if the plane had crashed? No more stunts like this anymore.”
Jing Yichen realised that she was really pissed. So he handed the plane back to the captain and took Shangguan Ning back to the exquisitely decorated cabin.
Shangguan Ning was still scared and angry about what happened. Her face was pale but she didn’t use the fiery tone any more.
“When others are enjoying watching movies and dinners, we are flying the plane and risking our lives. It was too scary. I won’t dare to even go near the cockpit in the future!”
Jing Yichen pulled her on his lap and pinched her chin as he apologized to her. “Sorry, baby, I was wrong to have scared you. But the plane was within my control. I would never risk your life, because it is more important than mine and I don’t want you to be hurt at all! You don’t need to take anymore flying lessons in the future, I can do the job. You are spared.”
Shangguan Ning knew how much Jing Yichen loved her.
She started to feel better. When she thought back at what happened, she found that not only Jing Yichen but also the captain and the assistants had been composed. None of them even made a sound.
She did seem to have… overreacted.
But anyone would have lost their head in that situation! The plane had been descending rapidly and she seemed to have no control over it at the time.
But Shangguan Ning was not a woman who gave up. She was always a woman who dared to face the difficulty. Otherwise, she would not have tried her best to improve herself versus Shangguan Rouxue.
After a long while, she wrapped her arms around Jing Yichen’s neck and said determinedly, “I will learn to fly the plane. I will learn until I am able to do it well!”
