The medical wine was so effective that just the scent had brought benefits for the body. Mu Wensheng was indeed a legendary doctor.
The couple drank only one spoonful of the liquor according to what Jing Zhongxiu said.
The golden liquid was so thick that it was almost solid. As the liquid entered the mouth, scent filled up their mouths, bringing a unique feast for the tongue.
Fresh and fragrant, it was delicious!
Shangguan Ning and Jing Yichen had never drunk such a yummy thing ever. Their eyes brightened and turned to that bottle of golden liquid, craving for one more mouthful of it.
But Jing Zhongxiu had stressed that only one spoonful was allowed at one time and no more, because too much would be a waste.
They sealed up the lid reluctantly and fell asleep with the lovely scent around them.
The medical wine seemed to have a hypnotic effect. They fell asleep faster than usual. There didn’t seem to be any other difference.
However, it started to show its effect by the second half of the night.
Shangguan Ning and Jing Yichen kept visiting the toilet!
They got diarrhea, violent diarrhea.
Fortunately, there were two toilets on the second floor of Huang Lihan’s villa. Otherwise it would be impossible for them to control if they had to run downstairs to the first floor.
The couple’s frequent visits to the toilets woke up Jing Zhongxiu and Huang Lihan.
They walked up to the living room of the second floor and stopped Jing Yichen who had just come out of the toilet.
“What is it going on? Why do you keep visiting the toilet? What about Ning? Is she alright?”
“Did you eat anything bad tonight? But then we also ate the same thing. Neither your father nor I have any problems. You better go and visit the hospital!”
Jing Yichen drank water as he sat feebly on the chair. He had got such serious diarrhea that he was almost dehydrated.
Jing Zhongxiu said to the anxious servant. “Get them some salted water, warm salted water.”
The servant wiped off the large sweat beads off her forehead and went to boil the water. She had no idea if it had been because of the food she made that Shangguan Ning and Jing Yichen had such serious diarrhea. If it was because of the food she made, she would definitely lose the job. Also, she would feel very guilty because Shangguan Ning and Huang Lihan treated her very well and she didn’t want Shangguan Ning to have food poisoning.
Jing Yichen felt better after drinking a cup of water. He was about to say something when Shangguan Ning came out from the other bathroom.
Huang Lihan went to help his niece and got extremely concerned. “What is it going on? The children will die if this continues.”
Jing Yichen was much fitter than Shangguan Ning. So he asked Shangguan Ning to sit next to him and held her as he said bitterly, “I think, it must have been because of Grandpa Mu’s wine.”
Jing Zhongxiu was astonished. He sprang up and frowned. “What? Something wrong with the liquor?”
Could Old Mu have put some weird ingredients into the wine in case of theft?
“I definitely need to go and ask Old Mu. My son and daughter-in-law are suffering. He better give me a proper explanation.”
Jing Yichen held him back and said, “Wait, Dad, I don’t think anything weird is in the wine. We only drank a small spoon each and the problem arose. Probably we didn’t drink it properly or maybe the wine is to be used in a different way.”
Huang Lihan got even more anxious. He was really concerned about his niece.
“Then what should we do? Just wait and see? How are you feeling, Ning? I can take you to the hospital, are you alright?”
Shangguan Ning shook her head feebly and said softly, “It is okay, Uncle. I am alright, just feeling very thirsty and weak. Nothing else hurts, not even my stomach.”
Hearing the words, Jing Yichen gave her the water mug and said softly as he took her in arms, “Drink some warm water, you will feel better.”
Jing Zhongxiu got very mad.
He had got this wine without permission, so he never asked how to drink this wine and what side effects could happen. If he called Old Mu in the middle of the night, and ask how to use the wine, he would probably be violently scolded – Jing Tianyuan and Mu Wensheng were the only two people in A City who could scold him as they wished.
Jing Yichen also understood that they shouldn’t go to Mu Wensheng at this moment. He was very angry probably and would not tell them anything.
He thought for a while and said, “Let me ask Mu Qing and see if he knows anything. He has been with Old Mu for his entire life and can’t possibly be unaware of what Grandpa Mu owns.”
Jing Zhongxiu nodded and said anxiously, “Yes, ask him now.”
He was scared that because of his impulse his son and daughter in-law would suffer.
His call to Mu Qing went through, and he sounded hoarse. Apparently, he had been woken up by Jing Yichen from deep sleep.
“Master Jing, what is it? Can’t you just call me when I am at work? I just fell asleep…”
Jing Yichen interrupted his babbling talk and asked politely, “How are we supposed to drink the precious wine which Grandpa Mu keeps? What is the potential side effect? Why have I got serious diarrhea after just one sip?”
Mu Qing was still very sleepy. He asked hazily, “What medical wine? He has numerous kinds there…”
“The golden color wine called immortal drug!”
Mu Qing instantly became totally awake after hearing Immortal Drug.
He sprang up from the bed and asked, “Master Jing, are you kidding me? That is the most precious kind my grandpa keeps. He doesn’t even allow me to touch it. Did you… you drank it?”
“Yes, I did, Ning and I both took one sip and got severe diarrhea. What is the problem?”
Mu Qing got so surprised that his mouth opened to be able to hold two eggs in it.
He was not exaggerating. The gold like medical liquor was truly his grandpa’s most precious thing. He didn’t even allow anyone to even take a look at the bottles, let alone drink them. He was afraid that someone would steal it.
How did Jing Yichen and Shangguan Ning get to drink it?
It was not possible. Grandpa was the stingiest man and he couldn’t have possibly allowed both of them to drink it. He was his grandson and even he hadn’t tasted a bit of it ever.
He scratched his unkempt hair annoyedly. This was not good. How could he have such a low position in his grandpa’s heart? Lower than that of Jing Yichen and Shangguan Ning!
