After one more night at the castle, Jing Yichen took Shangguan Ning to try the wedding gown the following morning.
Although the wedding gown was not fully done till now, yet it already looked extremely exquisite. It was tailor-made according to Shangguan Ning’s measurements.
The moment the drapery of the trying room was pulled open, Jing Yichen caught sight of his wife in the white wedding gown.
He looked amazed. He walked forward to take hold of Shangguan Ning’s hands and whispered, “Very beautiful. Never saw you wearing any strapless dress before. Make the rest of the dresses strapless as well.”
Shangguan Ning’s shoulders were white and slender, and her collarbone was dainty, making her look gorgeous.
Shangguan Ning had also noticed that she seemed to look pretty in strapless dresses, so she nodded with a smile. “I had the same thought. I like this style as well.”
The designer had designed it so well that it fitted amazingly.
They discussed it for a bit more and then took some more measurements of Shangguan Ning, in case her figure changed slightly by that time of the wedding.
After the trial, Shangguan Ning and Jing Yichen held hands and strolled along the streets of London.
Jing Yichen and Shangguan Ning hadn’t roamed much in France, because both of them were very familiar with the country. But Shangguan Ning wasn’t as familiar with the UK, so Jing Yichen, who had lived in the UK for a long time, acted as a guide for his wife.
After walking for a while, Jing Yichen took Shangguan Ning to the double decker bus and for sightseeing.
They went to the Parliament Square, the Big Ben, Palace of Westminster, the London Eye etc…
They also went into The Collegiate Church of St Peter at Westminster for a visit…
After they got tired, they visited a British afternoon tea at The Tower Hotel and had a wonderful time.
By the time it was evening, the couple took the car back to the villa. Shangguan Ning was surprised to find out that a beautiful and romantic candle light dinner was waiting for her at home.
She turned to the man next to her. “You prepared this?”
Jing Yichen looked up pleased and said with a smile, “Of course. Romance is in the air. We are not risking our lives this time, we are going to have a good time. Please, my wife!”
Shangguan Ning smiled and sat down in the chair which he pulled out. Seeing him opening the wine bottle and pouring the wine for her, she, who had been a bit tired from all that walking, was soon infected by the romantic and cozy atmosphere.
It was a lovely night. The following day, they went to see the other side of London before heading towards Ireland on the third day.
They stayed in the UK for one week, tried the wedding gown once again and then headed back home.
During the flight back to the country, Shangguan Ning tried flying the plane once again. Thanks to Jing Yichen’s instruction, she had no problem flying it by herself. For Shangguan Ning, it was a very huge accomplishment.
Driving a car was simple, but flying a plane… was simply so cool!
After they got back to A City, Shangguan Ning sorted the presents which she had brought back from France and the UK well and started to deliver them to Uncle and their friends.
They had missed the weekly meal at Uncle’s house when they were in the UK, so they went to make up to him this week.
The couple stayed at home for one day before going back to work the following day.
Shangguan Ning gave the wine bottle and a small present to Lu Qing and then gave one to Mi Xiaoxiao as well.
Mi Xiaoxiao couldn’t wait to tear open the gift, the moment she saw it. When she saw the wrap cape of Scottish style, she shook her head and said exaggeratingly, “Honestly, Deputy President Shangguan, can’t you be a bit generous to give me a Hermès bag? This wrap cape… well doesn’t fit your identity so well!”
Shangguan Ning grabbed the wrap cape and glared at her, “Forget it if you don’t want it. This wrap cape cost me more than 10,000 yuan and you still detest it. My salary is not enough for even half of a Hermès bag. You can fly to the UK to get one yourself.”
Mi Xiaoxiao was just talking. She liked the wrap cape very much.
She grabbed the wrap cape back and then smiled. “I want it! Give it to me!”
Shangguan Ning smiled as well. They chit chatted for a moment when Mi Xiaoxiao said in a mysteriously low voice, “Our enterprise is going through a turbulent time recently. They all say that Jingsheng will split into half now, one with the President, the other with Second Master for a new group. I am not sure if it is true. Do you have any internal information to leak to me, since you are Mrs. President and the Deputy President both? I need to get ready ahead of time, in case Second Master gets the Department of Public Relations. If that really happens, I will quit immediately. He is such a monster, and I don’t want to irritate him…”
Shangguan Ning got so startled by her words that she was speechless for a moment.
What was going on?
How could there be a rumor like this!
It was impossible that Jingsheng would be split into half.
Jing Zhongxiu did mention that Jing Yiran would give half of the inheritance to Jing Yiran, but he had never mentioned that Jingsheng would be split.
Pale, Shangguan Ning grabbed hold of Mi Xiaoxiao and asked with a low voice, “Who said this to you?”
Mi Xiaoxiao was surprised. “Didn’t you know? The entire enterprise knows about it already. Even TV-Stations were here for the interview but the Director drove them off. Although TV-Stations didn’t get anything, yet it is the headlines in the newspapers already. Oh, yes, it just happened. You were in the UK at that time.”
Shangguan Ning couldn’t hold it any more. She said, “I am off” to Mi Xiaoxiao and hurried off from the tea room all the way up to the 76th floor.
In the President’s office on the 76th floor, Jing Yichen was reading through the plan of a proposed project of the Enterprise. Without knocking at the door, Shangguan Ning barged in.
She forgot to address him as “President” in the hurry. Instead, she called him “Yichen” and asked him anxiously, “Did you hear about the splitting of the Enterprise? What is it going on? Could it have been Jing Yiran’s work again?”
Jing Yichen looked up and smiled confidently at Shangguan Ning. “It’s just a rumor. Don’t worry, Jingsheng won’t be split, it will only be mine.”
Shangguan Ning let out a slight relief hearing what he said. But she still asked, “The rumor is everywhere in the company. Won’t it cause uneasiness amongst the staff?”
