His eyes were wide open. He could not believe that Lu had pulled the trigger.
He had told her about Jing Yiran, but she did not seem worried at all.
Could it have been because she never actually cared about Jing Yiran and had pretended just to confuse him?

The sound of shooting startled Tang Shunian’s guards and the entire hospital building. However, when they entered the room, they saw Tang Shunian lying dead, but there was no one else there.

As for Jing Yiran, he was absolutely safe. Tang Shunian’s men had already been controlled by Jing Yichen and told Tang Shunian whatever he asked them to. Tang Shunian had lost one arm and his intelligence along with it. He should have known that Jing Yichen’s men were everywhere in A City and his men were not faithful people. They gave into Jing Yichen as soon as they were caught.
When Lu arrived home, she saw two tall men confronting each other in the living room. Shangguan Ning was sitting there with Jing Rui in her arms. She looked helpless. Jing Rui’s large eyes were staring at the two men curiously as he let out some noise as if trying to stop the fight. No one really understood what he was saying.
The moment she entered, Shangguan Ning instantly stood up and walked towards her with Jing Rui in her arms. “Lu, finally you are here. These two got in a fight when you were not here!”
Jing Rui did not think of Lu as a stranger. He kept making sounds as if trying to tell her what was going on.
Before Lu was able to say anything, Jing Yiran rushed to her and sized her up thoroughly. He let out a sigh of relief when he was sure that she was not injured anymore.
Lu put her hand into his and told him that she was fine. Then she turned to Jing Yichen and said calmly, “He is dead.”
Startled slightly, Jing Yichen nodded. “Okay.”
He had just said one word without showing any expression of either surprise or joy, so Jing Yiran became a bit unhappy.
“Jing Yichen, what do you mean by okay? My woman risked her life to kill that person and she almost lost her life. You are so heartless!”
Jing Yichen had been used to hearing Jing Yiran addressing Lu as his woman, so he didn’t find it strange. But Shangguan Ning heard it for the first time, so she turned to look at Lu in surprise.
Lu’s pale-looking face was expressionless too. She had been used to hearing Jing Yiran calling her in this way.
Jing Yichen looked at Jing Yiran coldly and said, “Then should I give her an award or a trophy? Is she a student?”
