Chapter 916 I Want to Take Him Home

"What do you want?"

Lillian was so frightened that she retreated in a hurry. But her hasty movement slammed herself on the
wall and she howled in pain.

Nicole felt so sorry, saying, "I just wanted to see you clearly. There's no signal here, but the torch of my
cell phone still can work. "

Hearing that, Lillian whispered, "Please, don't. I'm afraid I would scare you."

Nicole felt so sorry for her.

"I heard from Petty that she would make a video call to you every once in a while. She hasn't known
what happened to your face, has she?"

"It's been a long time since I got a video call from Betty. And we haven't been in touch for long. Elvis is

He asked someone to send Petty to an orphanage that very night. My poor kid, she was sent to the
orphanage starving. And I had never breastfed her. Now she is in her twenties, but I can only see her
through a video call. She went blind for some reason last time I saw her, but I didn't dare to ask her
about it. I was afraid that she would blame me."

Lillian wept bitter tears as she continued.

Nicole was also a mother, so she naturally knew how a mother felt about her kid.

She patted Lillian's shoulder and comforted her in a low voice, "Petty's optic nerves didn't get hurt, so
she can get her sight back. In fact, my husband, Samuel, has asked someone to cure Petty, and now



she looks as pretty as she used to be."

"Samuel is your husband? Is he the test-tube baby of Elvis and Zama?"

"Exactly."

Nicole didn't like others talking about her husband like that, but it was the truth she couldn't hide.

Lillian sighed, "Elvis would love to do anything for Una, even the evil. I should be blamed for what Betty
went through. I was obsessed with Elvis. I thought having a kid with him would please him, but I still
crossed the line he drew. He didn't want any other woman except Una in his lifetime while Una just
could be with him. His loyal and pure affections for her were rare in this world, and he would even
betray the whole world for her sake, while he was cruel stiff to the others. I’ve been confused why he
fell in love with Una all of a sudden. Is it because she is prettier than me?"

"Romance always happens for no reason. Una’s good-looking face can explain something, but it can’t
explain all. Maybe it’s just because we don’t understand the chemistry between them. Ms. Lillian, don’t
think about it anymore. If you could have let go of your obsession with Elvis in this life and fallen for

Lillian was silent when hearing Nicole's words.

"You studied medicine?"

"Nope. But Zama comes from a noble family of Chinese medicine. When my husband and I went to her
hometown, we saw piles of medical books in their ancestral hall. I flipped through some of them for fun
and happened to see the same symptom as Una had. I think she was poisoned when she was just a
fetus in her mother’s belly. And her entire body was purple when she was born. And she would go into
a coma and then got her breath back by herself like a corpse went back to life. So, no wonder her
family would send her to an orphanage. Since this kind of case is rare and most of people would think
that the kid is with a birth defect and hard to be raised.”

Nicole whispered.

Lillian said with a nod, “Perhaps you’re right. Una and I grew up in an orphanage. We are best friends.
She once told me that she did feel her chest tight sometimes. She herself felt she was sleeping, but the
others would think she had died and then went back to life. So she has got no other friends except me
since her childhood. I used to be scared of seeing her symptom, but I’ve got used to it. Because she
would be fine each time the symptom was gone.”

What Lillian said added more weight to her guess.

"Actually, it's quite simple to know if Una is really poisoned. A blood test will explain everything. I don't
believe that Elvis has never done such a simple thing before."

Lillian started to laugh.

And her laughter sounded so ironic.



"I've already said that Elvis is like a fool and madman when he is with Una. Once he thought Una was
with a genetic defect in the very beginning, he wouldn’t listen to different opinions of anyone else, just
as what you went through today. You said she got food poisoning, as was known to everyone, but he
just didn’t believe it. What else could you do?”

Nicole felt a little depressed.

Elvis did sound like a fool.

Nicole sighed, feeling a bit cold.

"When will he let us go?"

"Not a chance for me. The one and only purpose I have to serve in this world is to do drug trials for
Una. Because our physiques are similar and we have the same blood type. Thanks to Una, I’m still
living. But you’re different from me. You must still be of use to him, otherwise he would have brought
you to this island. Since it’s a fancy world for him and Una, which he won’t allow anyone else to step a
foot on. So he’ll let you go when he confirms Una is fine."

Lillian's words roused Nicole’s sympathy again.

"Your blood type is the same as that of Una? Is it a rare one?"

"As rare as a panda."

Lillian said with a wry smile, "I finally understand why he took me away from the orphanage with her.
He just wanted to find a walking blood bank for Una. How pathetic and miserable I am!"

Nicole did want to comfort Lillian, but she didn't know how. That was where she couldn't get involved.

She quickly changed the topic after a sigh.



"Ms. Lillian, could I ask you something?"

"What is it? I’ll tell you whatever I know. I only hope that you can take good care of Petty for me after
you leave this place. Petty is a pitiful child. She was used by Elvis because of me. Tell her not to worry
about me anymore, because I’ve been dead. She doesn’t need to be used by Elvis anymore when she
knows I’m dead. Then she would be able to live her own life instead of always being affected by what
was between Elvis and me.”

Lillian couldn't help but shed tears when mentioning Petty.

Nicole could do nothing but nod in agreement.

"I will do as you said. Don't worry about Petty, since I will take good care of her. And I will also try my
best to get you out of here. Ms. Lillian, the rest of your life is long, and it’s of endless possibilities."

"I used to think about leaving here, but not anymore now. Since my face has been ruined already.
People would be scared of me when seeing my face. So I don’t want to leave here that much. My
sacrifice would mean something as long as Petty could live a good life.”

Lillian was a good mother, but Nicole thought living a life like that would be way too miserable.

Nicole was so sad that she even felt hard to breathe.

Taking a deep breath, she knew that it wasn’t the proper time to show her compassion.

Casting a glance at Lillian, Nicole whispered, "Ms. Lillian, I am Nicole, Xander's daughter. I want to
know whether my father's corpse was placed on this island by Elvis." Why did he do that? My father
has been dead for more than 20 years, but Elvis still keeps his corpse. And as a daughter, I don’t want
to see my father’s dead body be used as his research sample. I want to take him home. If you know
anything about it, could you please tell me the truth?”
