Chapter 1595 A Climax

“Mr. Green, the baby is innocent,” finally Jacob uttered a few words.

Samuel wondered what else he could speak to Jacob.

He whispered, “Jacob, we’ve been good friends. Let me give you a kindly reminder -- divorce as soon
as possible. Otherwise, there would be a fuss ahead. I can’t protect you. I’ve thought that you are a
man who can be entrusted for life and even thought you are a good man with decent character. I
thought Olivia would be quite happy after marrying you. But you’re truly different than I’ve thought.
Probably everyone is selfish in some way. Some of us are selfish but it doesn’t mean they are bad or
something, but some of us would turn others down by doing just one thing. I have to admit I’m so
disappointed in you.”

After finishing his words, Samuel hung up the phone.

For so many years, Samuel seldom spoke so harshly to Jacob.

Jacob was taken aback for a moment as if he was hit by something. He stood there motionlessly and
didn’t notice even when his cell phone dropped on the ground.

Mr. Green remarked that he was selfish. However, he had his reason to have done so. He was afraid
that Olivia wouldn’t have anyone to rely on after getting aged.

If they had a child, even if he died earlier, Olivia would still have a baby, wouldn’t she?

The baby was raised by her. Since it was just born, it wouldn’t know anything. Hence, it would treat
Olivia as its birth mother.

Jacob wondered why she couldn’t understand his effort.

Why was he remarked being selfish?



Jacob didn’t think he had done anything wrong. However, when he thought about Samuel’s words, he
felt quite upset.

There were a few knocks on the door.

Before Jacob answered, Julissa opened the office door and came in with a cup of coffee.

“What happened? Why do you look so upset? I made you a cup of coffee. Try it.”

Julissa smiled brightly at him. However, Jacob recalled Samuel’s words.

This woman was quite gentle and graceful in his presence. In business, she was also a rarely good
assistant. He even spent more time with her than with Olivia.

She gave him a wrong impression, but secretly, she had played so many dirty tricks to Olivia, hadn’t
she?

Jacob gazed at Julissa directly.

Under his gaze, she was scared and smiling uneasily.

“What happened? Why are you looking at me like this?”

“You’re pregnant, but why you are still wearing high heels? Aren’t you afraid it would hurt the baby?”

Jacob withdrew his gaze. Upon hearing his question, Julissa breathed a sigh of relief.

“I’m too busy to buy shoes. I’ve been quite busy in the company recently.”

“I’ve asked the human resource department to hire another two assistants. You can transfer your tasks
to them in the following days. Then you can just stay home and take care of yourself.”



Julissa was stunned while hearing Jacob’s words. In a hurry, she said, “There is so much work in the
company. How can I complete the transfer in only a few days?”

“I’m still here. I can mentor the newcomers.”

“Mr. Brown, the baby is only more than fifty days old. I am not in a hurry to rest. I can still work.”

“I hope the baby could be born safe and sound.”

Jacob’s gaze suddenly became sharp.

Julissa bit her bottom lip, knowing that she would suffer a loss if she continued arguing with Jacob. She
said in a grievance tone, “Did that Mrs. Green do something to stress you? Mr. Brown, you are the
CEO of a listed company. Why are you afraid of a woman?”

“It’s none of your business. I’ve hired a nanny and bought you a house. In five days, finish transferring
your job and move. I’ll ask the servants to take care of you. As long as you can give birth to a healthy
baby, I’ll keep my promise.”

Upon hearing Jacob’s words, Julissa felt quite joyful.

She remembered that Jacob had promised to give her some money. Although it was not a huge
amount, as long as she got it from him, she could have methods to keep the baby by her side.

Thinking of that, Julissa looked quite delighted.

Looking at her, Jacob sneered inwardly.

Sure enough, this woman was so hypocritical and greedy.

He decided to look into the matters that she had done behind his back.



“You can leave now. I’m busy.”

Jacob directly sent her out of the office.

After calling Samuel, Nicole went back to the private box. She didn’t wake up Olivia. She sent a
message to Finn and asked him to find out why Olivia kept coughing and whom she had seen.

Then she stayed in the box, waiting for Olivia to wake up.

Probably Olivia hadn’t had a good rest for a long time. When she woke up, it was already completely
dark outside. Nicole was reading a book.

Olivia took a closer look, only to find that Nicole was reading her script. Olivia stretched and rubbed her
shoulders.

“Are you interested in acting?”

“Not really. I just want to know about the script of your current shooting.”

Nicole passed it to Olivia.

Olivia felt quite cozy. Probably it was because she had vented all her grievance, or it was because
Nicole got her back, she felt quite delighted and relaxed.

“Have you decided where to spend your holiday?”

Nicole tried her best to avoid Jacob. As soon as mentioning that man, she would feel a desire to kill
him.

Olivia shook her neck a bit, feeling something wrong with her cervical vertebra.



“Would it be inappropriate if I suddenly have a holiday? The fans would say I’m too arrogant.”

“First, you should live for yourself, and then for your fans.”

Nicole rolled her eyes on Olivia.

Olivia said with a smile, “All right. All right. I just asked for leave so suddenly, but I don’t know where to
go yet. In the past years, it was my assistant who arranged my vacations for me. That assistant was
hired by Jacob. I suspect that she’s his spy to monitor me.”

Nicole suddenly felt a bit upset.

She hugged Olivia and whispered, “Come to Country F with me. It would be a few days. I’ll introduce
my cousins to you.”

“Your cousins? Who are they?”

good old days.

“Okay. I’ll listen to you. When shall we leave?”

“How about now?”

Nicole didn’t think it was necessary to stay here. As far as she knew about Jacob, he would be looking
for Olivia after talking to Samuel on the phone.

Nicole had turned off Olivia’s cell phone as she didn’t want it to disturb her. Now, except for Phil, no one
knew where Olivia was. Phil would definitely not tell Jacob about Olivia’s whereabouts.



No matter how they would end up, Nicole believed that Olivia and Jacob should separate and calm
down a bit. She also had her own intention -- she hoped Olivia could follow her to Country F and let
Davon give Olivia a checkup.

Nicole was quite determined now. She couldn’t ignore the matter that Olivia coughed out blood. Since
the doctor in the hospital couldn’t find out any cause, she hoped Davon could diagnose the sickness.
After all, Olivia was pretty important for Nicole.

Besides, Karina was working for Audrey in Country F now, and Booth was there as well. If Olivia and
Booth could meet at this moment, Nicole believed that it might be good for Olivia.
