Chapter 1562 Nicole and Lucas Ran Away

“Shut the fuck up! Or I will have Evelyn killed! If I die, she also dies!”

Finally, Martin made Tim’s mouth shut, but Tim scowled as cold as marble at him.

“You’d better pray that my wife is all right, otherwise I may do something unethical.”

He didn’t mention what unethical thing he would do, but everyone there understood it, and it meant that
if he was pushed too far, he would have Martin killed.

Seeing how emotional he was, Samuel stepped forward hastily, “Where are my wife and son?”

Martin then looked into Samuel’s eyes.

“You’d better not meddle in what I want to do, otherwise…”

Samuel said in a cold, curt voice, glaring at Martin.

Martin was annoyed a bit. It seemed that he didn’t see that Samuel would be this arrogant, even

love Mrs. Green as people said.”

Samuel didn’t reply.

At this time, a man ran in quickly, and whispered to Martin, “Mr. Close, Nicole and the young lad have
run away.”

“What the fuck?”

Martin was astounded.



This place was guarded heavily, how could it be possible that Nicole, a woman, and Lucas, a young
lad, could run away?

No!

They must still be here in the mansion.

“Go! Check every room of this mansion and find them out!”

Hearing this, Samuel and Tim understood what had happened.

Tim smiled coolly, “What? You want to use woman and kid to threaten us? Have troubles now? Where
do you keep my cousin and nephew? Martin Close, I warn you now, if you can’t give them back to me
safely, I will make this place a snafu and you will have no peace anymore, try it and you will regret.”

Samuel’s expression was also getting serious.

“Martin Close, you took them from my place, and now they are not with you, and you must be
responsible for it if they are hurt. You caught my wife and son to threaten me to not involve in your
business, and it was negotiable at the first place, and maybe we could even settle it down. After all, I
am not like some devout men who are just so warmhearted to help others. For me, I won’t risk my wife

“It depends on how is with my wife and son. If they are hurt, the problems will not only be going against
you, and it will be worse. To my humble opinion, I would say no one would blame me to make you pay
for that.”

Samuel was very firm and confident.

And for Martin, he looked really bad.

When men were fighting about over whereabouts of Nicole and Lucas, Nicole and Lucas were in a
puzzle.

They had used air vent to escape from the detaining room, but were stuck in the vent, because there
were bodyguards all over the mansion, and they didn’t know where the vent would lead them to. Now
all the people of the Close Family were looking for them.

Lucas said in a low voice, looking down on the ground, “Mom, how long do we still need to stay here?”

Nicole wanted to have some evidences of Martin’s misconduct, so she decided to be caught and come
over here with Lucas. It was a counterplot. Nothing ventured, nothing gained. However, they would gain
nothing, if they stayed in the room.

She remembered the past, and knew the air vent was a safe and good place, for seldom people would
pay attention to it, and it connected all rooms. Anyone could have a good look at every room, from the
vent above the room, without much effort.

There were so many rooms in the mansion, it would be strenuous and unsafe to check all rooms on the
ground.

People of the Close Family were still searching around for Nicole and Lucas, but now they felt
numbness in their legs, for they had been bending their body in the air vent for long.



“How about we move forward and have a look?”

Nicole asked Lucas.

For Lucas, he was shorter than Nicole, so he felt better than her staying in the air vent.

For Nicole, she felt way more uncomfortable staying in the air vent.

“Well.”

Lucas nodded.

They followed the air vent and crawled forward.

After a corner, Nicole stopped suddenly.

“What’s wrong?”

“Shush…”

Nicole gestured Lucas to keep quiet.

Lucas was confused, took a glance down on the room, and found out that it was dark down there,
without any light.

Now it was daytime, but down there, the curtain of the room was closed, and the room was dark as the
night. They could not tell what were kept there.

At this moment, a soft and squeaky voice sounded from the room, which made Nicole hold her breath
immediately.

What a familiar voice!



It made her heart sinking, and her eyes brimming a bit.

Lucas also heard that voice, but see nothing down int the room. He dared not to speak, but wait.

The voice started getting louder and louder, and ended with a sound of some heavy stuff crashing onto
the ground.

Nicole couldn’t wait anymore. She opened the vent and jumped into the room fast.

Lucas was a little worried, but he heard Nicole said, “Stay up there, don’t come down.”

In case that bad things happened, Lucas would still be safe up in the vent.

Lucas stopped when hearing so.

Nicole rushed to the direction where the voice came from.

“Ahh!”

It seemed that the person was suffering a great pain, and couldn’t help growling eventually. And then,
the striking voice repeated again and again.

Nicole didn’t see it clearly just now, but now she found out that it was a man who was knocking his
head against the wall, which really frightened her.

“Stop it!”

Nicole stepped forward and wanted to stop him, and he turned around abruptly. His eyes were so red
and it looked really creepy in such a dark room. It scared her and she took a few steps back.

The man seemed not to know who was standing before him, and rushed very quickly towards Nicole
after hearing the voice.



His move was surprisingly fast!

Nicole hardly had any time to react, but was grabbed by the neck. And the smell of blood overwhelmed
her.

“Calm down!”

Nicole was struggling, and feeling that her body was lifting up slowly.

She was choked, and unable to get enough air. She reached her right hand into her pocket, took out a
needle tubing, stabbed it onto the back of the man’s neck with a rush, and injected.

Noticing something not right, the man made a low growl and threw Nicole away directly.

“Boom,” her body was smashed on the ground before the French window. She opened the curtain at
once, and the familiar face was seen when the lights shed into the room.
