Chapter 1161 So We Are Soulmates?

Joseph looked at Laurence. He did not understand what Cynthia meant.

Daddy and mommy did something bad to Uncle Laurence?

How was it possible?

Joseph retreated two steps back subconsciously, even though he was confused. He looked at
Laurence with caution.

Laurence was heartbreaking.

"Cynthia, please stop. Give me the phone."

Laurence's hand extended towards Cynthia.

"No, I will never give it to you even if I have to break it. Do you want to let this brat call Samuel? That is
impossible with my existence."

When Cynthia finished speaking, she took the phone and was about to leave. Laurence stopped her.

"The phone!"

His voice was much colder, and his expression looked scary.

Cynthia did not expect his reaction. But she immediately became angry in a few seconds.

"You are just a stinking monster. How dare you scold me? Who do you think you are?"

Cynthia said as she was about to beat Laurence.

She thought that Laurence would still take her bully this time. However, Laurence directly dodged. She
did not stand still and hit the wall beside her. She also hurt her back.



"My back! Neville! Neville! Laurence is hitting me. Are you coming or not?"

Cynthia still slandered Laurence at a moment like this.

Laurence did not look at Cynthia. He directly took the phone back from her hand and immediately
called Nicole. Then, he passed the phone to Joseph.

"Laurence, what is going on?"

"Are you done messing around? The Miller family's reputation has been completely humiliated by you."

"The Miller family? How dare you mention your family in front of me? Do you think I would agree to

Cynthia was getting angry at Neville again.

They started another round of fighting.



Laurence was having a headache.

He directly held up Joseph and left the house.

Nicole was surprised at how Joseph and Laurence were together, but now she could hear Laurence's
current situation through the phone.

She sighed and said, "Joseph, express your gratitude to Under Laurence. I will send someone to pick
you up."

"It is OK, I will send him back."

Laurence offered his help.

Joseph found Cara's phone number from Laurence's contact book and called Cara.

"Cara, are you busy now? Uncle Laurence and I are on the mountain. Can you drive over and pick us
up?"

When Laurence heard that Joseph was calling Cara, he wanted to stop him.

He did not want Cara to see him like this. But Joseph was smarter and dodged. When Laurence
grabbed the phone, Joseph already finished the call.

"Cara said she would be here soon."

"Then let her send you back."

Laurence wanted to hide, but Joseph grabbed his arm.

"Uncle Laurence, what if I am kidnapped by someone again? Besides, Cara does not know how to
fight."

Now Laurence could not leave because of Joseph's words.

Not long after, Cara arrived. She did not even wear a coat.

"Why did you come out without a coat on such a cold day?"

Laurence paused for a moment and said, "Get in the car. Mrs. Green must be worried knowing that
Joseph was missing."

"OK. You can drive."

Cara passed the car key to Laurence.

Joseph smiled and entered the back seat of the car, while Cara sat on the passenger seat.

When Laurence walked to the driver's seat, Cynthia came out of the house. She started yelling when
she saw the scene.

"Laurence, I knew you are heartless. Who is that woman? Who do you go out and hook up with? Do
not forget that you belong to Adela even if she is dead. Do you hear me?"

Cara frowned slightly and looked back.

Cynthia's hair was loose, and she looked like a crazy woman because of the fight. When Cara looked
at Laurence, she noticed that Laurence's expression looked gloomy. He did not say anything and
started driving.

"Is that woman Adela's mother?"

"Yes."

Laurence nodded. He thought for a moment and said, "She is right. Adela is the only woman in my life.
I will never have a relationship with another woman. Do not waste your time on me. Many men are
better than me. My life is a mess, and I need to support Adela's parents. Now, I am blocked by Mr.
Green and cannot find a job. I do not deserve you."



Laurence was very straightforward.

Cara was depressed, but she still smiled at Laurence, "I do not care. I can earn the money we need. I
can even help you support Adela's parents as my own."

It was impossible for Laurence to feel moved.

Laurence wanted to hug the girl in front of him so much. But he could not do that.

He understood Cynthia's craziness better than anyone else. She was a psychopath after Adela's death.
Maybe it was more appropriate to call her a crazy woman.

He could not let Cara get involved.

"I had said everything that needs to be said. You will only embarrass yourself if you continue to pester
me."

Laurence's voice was cold. There was no emotion in his voice.

Suddenly, the heater in the car could not warm her up.

"What if I want to embarrass myself?"

However, Laurence did not go in. He said to Cara, "Take Joseph inside. I will leave first."

"Aren't you going in with us? Maybe Mr. Green will change his mind because you saved Joseph."



Cara did not want Laurence to leave so fast.

Cara grabbed Laurence's clothes anxiously.

Laurence looked at his clothes and smiled bitterly, "He wants me to leave Adela's parents and be
myself."

"Don't you think it is good for you?"

Cara agreed with Samuel.

Laurence looked at Cara and said word by word, "Yes, it is good. But how can I do that? I promised
Adela that I will take care of her parents on her behalf until they leave this world. If I break my oath,
how do I have the courage to meet her again in heaven?"

Cara was worried and heart-breaking seeing Laurence's persistence.

"But they will drag you to hell."

"Then I will go to hell. My life is meaningless. Cara, I want to tell you one more time: do not waste your
time on me. I will never be with you in this lifetime. Please, just give up, for both of us."

Laurence rarely said so much to Cara, but his words hurt Cara so bad.

Joseph shook his head.

At this moment, Nicole and Samuel came out.



They were so relieved and happy seeing Joseph.

Nicole picked him up and said excitedly, "Joseph, you scared mommy to death."

"Mommy, I am sorry. It will not happen again."

Joseph hugged Nicole by the neck tightly.

Seeing this, Samuel felt relieved too.

Suddenly, a red dot flashed on Joseph's body. Laurence subconsciously walked forward and was about
to push Nicole and Joseph away. A bullet instantly pierced the air and headed straight to Laurence.

There was no time for Cara to warn Laurence. She directly stepped in front and hugged Laurence.

With a shrilling sound, Laurence heard the bullet piercing through a body.

Cara smiled at him, and slowly fell onto the ground...
