Chapter 1810 Not Really Convenient

Yasmeen was entirely stunned. She stared at the magnified handsome face in front of her with her
eyes opened. She felt it was dreamy and could not distinguish if this was real.

Even if Lucas was really mentally strong, he was also a little embarrassed to be looked at by her like
that.

“Close your eyes.”

His voice was hoarse and his eyes were with a hint of lust.

Yasmeen suddenly felt that her heartbeat was a little out of control. She hurriedly closed her eyes and
felt Lucas’s slightly cool thin lips that were covering hers again and then twisting and entangling.

would drown in the tenderness but at the most critical point, there was a gunfire sound outside.

Lucas and Yasmeen were stunned. Almost subconsciously, Yasmeen jumped off Lucas’s lap and
turned around to get Lucas’s jacket. She then said while walking, “Be careful. I’ll wait for you here to
come back.”

Seeing this scene, Lucas froze.

It was as if she had rehearsed this action countless times and an instinct had been formed in her body
as if she was ready for Lucas to go on a mission at any time. This deeply stung Lucas’s heart.

Lucas’s throat was a bit sore. He held Yasmeen’s hand and spoke in a low voice, “Yasmeen, I’ve
retired from the military. I’m just an ordinary businessman now.”

Once, Lucas used to be proud as a soldier.



He had never thought about how much his family would be worried about him when we went on
missions because Samuel and Nicole never showed it in front of him. All his family members supported
and encouraged him with his ambitions.

He had never seen how was his family worried about him, but now from Yasmeen’s subconscious
actions, he apparently saw a woman who loved him was nervous at all times and was worried about
him due to his ambitions, yet arranged her life and lifestyle according to his liking.

Lucas was touched.

Realization dawned on Yasmeen after she heard Lucas say so. She could not help but feel a little
embarrassed.

She knew since she was young that Lucas aspired to be a soldier to protect the country. So, she had
always demanded herself with the responsibilities of a soldier’s standard wife.

Although she was not in a relationship with Lucas, whenever she heard an unexpected major accident,
she would put herself in the shoes and then imagine what should she do if Lucas was in front of her.
Was it to stop or obey him?

Later she learnt that she should support. She should respect his faith and ambition and always be
ready for it.

Now this kind of responsibility and idea had long been marrow-deep so that she was constantly able to
react accordingly whenever she faced any unexpected situation. It formed an instinct over time.

Now, this instinct was shown for the first time but when Yasmeen heard that Lucas had retired from the
military, she was not actually used to it for a moment.

But, she thought of Lucas’s feelings rapidly.



Upon having been demanding herself with the responsibility of a soldier’s wife, she was not used to it,
so would not Lucas, who had always taken it as his duty to protect his country also feel sad and was
not used to it?

Yasmeen hurriedly said, “This is the Military Hospital of Capital City and Michele is still here. The sound
of gunfire is very close, it must be nearby. Do you want to go over and take a look?”

“I’m a wounded person and also a businessman. There are soldiers and police outside. I don’t need to
do so.”

Lucas pulled Yasmeen into his arms.

For the first time, he did not rush out after hearing the gunshots. It was also the first time that he truly

promise.

could calm oneself.

She did not want to care about kindness and love anymore. Now she only knew that she owned this
man by the name of Lucas and it would be enough that she had occupied his heart.

“Ah!”

Yasmeen exclaimed with delight.

Perhaps others did not understand her joy and excitement at this moment but Lucas understood.

His lips slightly curled and he felt that completing ten missions was not as satisfying as seeing
Yasmeen smiling brightly at this moment.

Lucas smiled faintly, pulled Yasmeen’s hand and said, “Bring the medical kit over.”

“Huh?”

Lucas stretched out his finger and flicked her head. He responded softly, “There was a gunshot outside
and everyone is on standby. Your scream will attract people to come over, thinking that something has
happened to us. You can’t possibly tell them you’re screaming because of my confession, right? Go get



the medical kit. I’ll take off my clothes and you apply the medicine to me. Later I’ll say you screamed
because you saw my wound, so it won’t be too embarrassing.”

Upon listening to Lucas’s explanation, Yasmeen instantly reacted and her little face blushed.

She had really gotten carried away.

If people knew that she was screaming because of Lucas’s words, she probably could not go out
anymore as everyone would laugh at her.

Yasmeen quickly ran to get the medical kit and Lucas also cooperatively unbuttoned and took off his
clothes.

Although Joseph had dealt with his wound, Yasmeen’s eyes suddenly turned watery as she saw the
wounds on Lucas’s body.

“It hurts, right? My dad was too forceful. I’ll have to scold him later.”

“Your dad was just concerned about you. He didn’t do anything wrong. Also, the way men solve
problems between them is different from women, so don’t interfere. These are all superficial injuries.
The good news is that your father has agreed to let me marry you as I wish. These injuries are not in
vain.”

Lucas said easily but Yasmeen felt bad and was heartbroken.

She gently took the iodine to apply medicine to his wounds. The sound of footsteps suddenly sounded
outside, followed by sharp knocks on the door.

“Mr. Green, are you there? We have to go in to do something, is it convenient?”

“Not really convenient.”



Just as Yasmeen was about to respond, she heard Lucas say so. She froze for a while.

What did it mean?

What did Lucas want to do?
