Chapter 1281 We Just Got Lost

Amelia hung on to Nicole tightly during the falling. She tried to act as a cushion to protect Nicole when
they landed. Yet Nicole saw through her and directly pulled Amelia into her embrace.

"You..."

Amelia was very surprised.

"You are Jarrod's woman," Nicole whispered. "We promised him to take good care of you. You are
bearing his child now, so I'm afraid you'll get hurt if you fall."

After saying that, Nicole pushed Amelia on top and acted as a cushion for Amelia herself.

Due to intense pain and the fast speed of falling, Nicole felt like her ribs were about to break.

A trace of grateful flashed through Amelia's eyes.

Ever since she became Jarrod's woman, Amelia was told to protect Jarrod under all circumstances.
Even if it was at the cost of her own life, Amelia could not get Jarrod hurt.

Nicole and Samuel were the people Jarrod cared about the most. Amelia naturally felt that she should
protect them. Otherwise, Jarrod would be sad. However, she did not expect that she was the most
important one in Nicole's eyes.

For more than ten years, Amelia had been a shadow, a secret guard, and a pawn that could be
discarded at will. Yet, at this moment, she felt that she was a human being, a woman that was cared
about and respected by others.

Apart from Jarrod, Nicole was the second person who gave Amelia such a feeling.

"Thank you, Nicole," she said with a sore nose.



"You're welcome, but I think you should pull me up. I'm in great pain."

Nicole felt like she was about to fall into pieces, and it hurt so much.

Amelia helped her up at once. Just as they picked themselves up, a cold pistol was aimed at their
heads.

"Freeze! Turn around!"

The indifferent voice stunned Nicole and Amelia. Their hearts lurched, and they guessed that their fear
had become reality.

Did these guys work for Aaron?

Nicole lowered her head and saw them wear military boots but mercenary trousers. Her heart got sunk.

She tried to secretly take out her gun, but a guy saw through her.

"I told you. Freeze! Or I'll shoot you in the head."

These words were absolutely threatening.

Even if Nicole tried to take a risk, she dared not to act rashly, as Amelia was beside her.

One of those guys quickly snatched Nicole's gun.

At this moment, Nicole was extremely anxious as she didn't know where Samuel was.

"Who are you? We just got lost."

"Shut up! Follow us!"

Those people didn't take Nicole's explanation.



Amelia tugged at Nicole's sleeve and whispered, "Just go with them. There's nothing we can do now."

"But Samuel..."

"He was just nearby. It's an Eight Trigrams Formation. Maybe my blood activated the formation and we
got here. But Samuel won't be too far away."

Amelia's words relieved Nicole a little.

As long as Samuel was not far from them, Nicole could figure out a way to find him.

They followed the two mercenaries to a tent.

Nicole looked around. There were about a dozen tents in the open air. Could it be that those people
were waiting to catch them?

Despite of walking for three days, did they still fail to escape?

Were they caught by Aaron in the end?

At the thought of Aaron, Nicole was a little angry. It seemed that she ended up falling into Aaron's traps
like a clown even if she had run for so long. Such a feeling was terrible.

"Stay inside! Don't play tricks!"

A man chased Nicole and Amelia into a tent.

Nobody but Nicole and Amelia was inside. The tent was spacious. The man did not follow, but stood
guard outside.

There was food and drink here. Given Amelia's wellbeing, Nicole whispered, "No matter what happens
later, get something to eat first. It's better than running out of energy."

Amelia's face was extremely pale, and some cold sweat oozed from her forehead.

Amelia was in a bad mental state.

Nicole was afraid that Amelia got something unexpected and even lost her baby, so she hurriedly
helped Amelia take a rest on a sleeping bag.

Nicole brought some food to Amelia and ate together.

Samuel landed not far from them. He was also kidnapped by the same mercenaries and taken to the
outermost tent.

If Nicole and Amelia got caught by Aaron, some disaster might be impending.

"Are you OK?"

"I'm fine. Just sit down and talk."

Emory and Samuel sat down and he had someone serve Samuel some food.

"Don't worry. I've arranged food for Nicole and that woman in another tent. They'll be fine for the time
being."

Emory read Samuel's mind and said those words.

Only then did Samuel feel relieved.

"You're indeed here!"

Samuel's words stunned Emory.

"You know that?"

"Jarrod mentioned that, but I felt that he was lying. When I saw you and people outside, I knew it's true.
All of them are soldiers, aren't they?"

Samuel took a sip of water.



Emory nodded and said, "Sort of, but they are all veterans. I can't employ the commissioned.
Something needs to be secret. I have no choice. You just mentioned Jarrod, Aaron's son? Did you
have a connection with him? That man is very ruthless."

Hearing Emory's evaluation of Jarrod, Samuel paused for a moment and said, "He is my half-brother."

"What?"

Emory was surprised, but he knew something about the Harper Town, so he immediately understood.

"So, Jarrod is Zama's son."

"That's true. It's why he stopped me from coming over. Jarrod said that I can't interfere with this. I
guessed that you might be here, so I decided to take a look. Besides, the Harper Town stuff involved
Mr. Morty's auntie and William. Mr. Morty also wants me to come over."

"Mr. Morty?"

Emory was surprised at first, but he soon understood.

Samuel nodded and ate something. "But Mr. Morty doesn't know much."

Emory looked at Samuel seriously.

Hearing Samuel's words, Emory sighed, "If possible, I don't want you to join us. You know the rules of

Samuel nodded and ate something.

Samuel was hunt down along the way. In fact, he did not rest well. Now that he was with Emory,

Nicole did not make it and fell asleep, too.

They had a sound sleep and didn't wake up until the next morning.

Amelia was a little surprised. She hadn't slept so well for quite a long time. Moreover, people outside
did not come in to trouble them, and even brought them breakfast.



When Nicole woke up, she saw Amelia holding a silver needle and checking the dishes one by one.
After confirming they were not poisoned, Amelia said to her, "Help yourself."

"OK."

After the meal, someone told Nicole to have a rest here, and Samuel would come over later.

Hearing this, Nicole frowned slightly and said, "They were friendly to us. Perhaps they aren't Aaron's
lackeys."

Amelia did not say anything, but she didn't relax her vigilance.

The moment Samuel woke up, he was called out by Emory.

He didn't know why Emory wouldn't talk to him inside. Yet, when he and Emory stood at the foot of the
mountain, Samuel was stunned by what he saw.
