Chapter 1123 It Was Because of Samuel

Samuel had to manage to control his desire. After all, Nicole was not very well.

Nicole was stunned for a moment because Samuel did nothing to her, but she could feel his body was
tense and shivering.

"Samuel?"

Samuel sighed and hugged her tightly in his arms. He whispered, "Not now. You need a few days to
recover."

Nicole's face turned red.

She almost forgot how weak she was.

Then they kissed and touched each other for a while. Nicole looked much better than yesterday.

She wanted to go out for a walk. Ashley agreed because she thought it was good for Nicole to have
some fresh air. Moreover, she missed her child. So she gave Nicole a full body check-up and left.

Nicole went to the back garden with Samuel.

They could only see white snow in the garden because it was snowing these days.

Samuel tightened her coat.

Nicole let her little face out and smiled, "In ancient times, it was said that emperors planted wintersweet
for their beloved concubines. Do you want to plant some for me?"

"Alright."

Samuel agreed at once.



"I mean you do it in person."

Samuel was doting.

It made Nicole thought that if she said she wanted the stars in the sky Samuel would agree to get them.

Nicole leaned against Samuel's arms and whispered, "They won't grow because it's winter now. You
can do it in the following spring, then we can enjoy the blossoms together next winter."

"Okay."

Samuel agreed all his wife's requests.

Nicole was so happy that she felt it was like an illusion.

Seeing Nicole was tired, Samuel asked with a soft voice, "How about I get you back on your bed?"

"No, I like here. It makes me feel like I'm still alive."

These words were heartbreaking for Samuel.

"Viola is dead."

Samuel knew Nicole still deeply cared about that even though she had never asked him.

Indeed, Nicole paused for a moment, but she didn't say a word.

Nicole had tried to get along with Viola but failed as Viola became wicked and obstinate.



Nicole moved in Samuel's arms and said with emotion, "I've been left alone. My father, my mother and

Edwin's voice came from behind, stunning Samuel and Nicole.

Nicole wanted to get up, but Edwin stopped her.

Edwin entered with Steve's help. Nicole was about to walk in, but suddenly Samuel held her and
carried her in.

She flushed, and everyone was smiling at her.

So Nicole hid in Samuel's embrace.



Feeling her shyness, Samuel smiled.

Seeing they had affection for each other, Edwin felt relieved.

Edwin asked Steve to take out a box. Steve gave it to Nicole.

"Grandpa, what is it?"

Nicole asked curiously.

"Open it."

Edwin wore a faint smile.

Samuel got Nicole on the sofa. Her nose was a little red from the cold, which made her very cute.

Nicole opened the box and was stunned for a moment.

It was a ginseng!

However, Samuel's expression changed.

"Grandfather, it can be over a hundred years, right?"

Such a ginseng was out of supply in the market.

Nicole was confused.

Joseph came over as he heard their conversation just as he came in.

He picked it up and observed. After sniffing it, he smiled, "It's a good thing. It can make Mommy

Edwin laughed when he saw that Joseph liked it.

Joseph smiled embarrassedly and said, "It can be four to five hundred years."

After he finished speaking, Nicole was shocked.

"Four to five hundred years? Grandfather, this is precious. I can't take it."

better."

Edwin said with a smile, but Nicole's eyes were wet.

Samuel also felt emotional.

Joseph put away the ginseng. He pulled on Samuel's sleeve and whispered, "Daddy, it is really a good
thing. Promise not to let Mommy eat too much."

When it came to things related to medicine, Joseph was so excited that his eyes were shining.

Edwin liked Joseph. But Joseph was shy in front of him.

Lucas greeted Edwin when he came in.

"Good day, great-grandpa."

"Good day. Are you on vacation?"

Looking at Lucas, Edwin felt he was acting like a calm adult.

Lucas nodded.

"Yes. And I'm going to go to Blair's place. Bye, great-grandpa."

"Bye."

Samuel had someone take Lucas away.

Seeing that Lucas had left, Joseph whispered, "I'll get Zoe back."

"Alright."

Zac took Joseph away.

There were only a few adults left, and Samuel began to make a cup of tea for Edwin.

Edwin felt that life should be like this.

The fragrance of the tea filled room. With Nicole here, Edwin felt at ease even if they didn't have a chat.



He looked outside and found it was snowing. Thinking of his empty house, Edwin sighed, "New Year is
coming. Why not come to my place and stay for a few days until the Lantern Festival?"

He had been alone for too long.

He was afraid of being quiet when he was free.

Nicole paused for a moment. Samuel did not say anything. Obviously, it depended on Nicole.

"Isn't Tim getting married? Grandpa, you can't get him live with you after his marriage."

"It doesn't matter. I bought a big villa in the northern suburbs. You all can celebrate the New Year with
me. Trust me. It can accommodate more than Tim and his wife. There will be much space left even all
Sally's family members come."

Edwin's words instantly stunned Nicole and Samuel.

Hearing this name, Nicole hesitated.

They didn't know what Sally wanted. Maybe she was hatching a plan about the Green family or the
Shaws. So would it be a right choice to get Sally back?

However, seeing Edwin was excited, Nicole couldn't say that.

Of his three daughters, only Sally was alive.

Seeing Nicole's hesitation, Samuel tried to help her.

wedding."

Nicole didn't know what to say.
