Chapter 1737 Still a Long Time Ahead

“You sure are having fun messing with me!”

She was about to hit him.

But as if Lucas had eyes behind his head, he held the dish with one hand and blocked her attack with
another. He smiled and said casually, “Let’s eat, otherwise you wouldn’t have the energy to fight me.”

Yasmeen was dumbfounded.

But she thought that he was right.

“I’ll let you go for now. I’ll get back at you after I eat.”

Yasmeen glared at him and walked indignantly towards the dining table.

But then, her beautiful eyes were suddenly gleaming because the dishes on the table were all her
favorites.

“Lucas, I think I fell into your trap.”

“What?”

Lucas sat down after washing his hand, he then poured Yasmeen a glass of milk. Yasmeen grimaced,
“I was the one following you around ever since we were children. Everyone around us knew that I was
the one chasing after you, but then, why would you know what I like to eat? This doesn’t seem right,
are you hiding your feelings this whole time? You pretend not to care, but in reality, you observe and
really care about me?”

Yasmeen spat facts unconsciously and this made Lucas tense up, but he changed the topic and went
around it perfectly.



He answered calmly, “I didn’t, I also didn’t make you peep at me while I was peeing.”

Yasmeen’s face flushed.

That happened a long time ago!

“Lucas, stop it! I was young and stupid back then.”

“Yeah, and you’re still an idiot.”

Yasmeen didn’t want to continue the conversation anymore.

She felt like there were always landmines everywhere when she talked to Lucas. She would get blown
up every second.

Suddenly, Yasmeen realized that she might have been a masochist. Otherwise, why would she fall in
love with someone like this?

Lucas smiled seeing how crestfallen Yasmeen was.

Easy!

He put up a stance the whole time and finally got together with her, he couldn’t let her know the truth.

“Let’s eat! You got skinny in these past few days.”

Lucas placed her favorite dish in front of her.

Yasmeen was famished, she didn’t bother thinking about the matter anymore. She quickly grabbed her
bowl and started eating.



Lucas put on one-time use gloves and started peeling the prawns. He put the prawns in Yasmeen’s
bowl after he peeled them.

Yasmeen was eating happily, she was in a very good mood!

One good thing about having a boyfriend was that she didn’t have to peel prawns for herself ever
again.

Yasmeen was satisfied with the meal, but Lucas didn’t eat too much.

Yasmeen suddenly realized that and felt embarrassed.

Lucas was sick. Not only did he cook for her, but he also peeled her prawns. She had a thick face, but
she started to feel embarrassed.

“Why are you eating so little?”

“I’m on a diet.”

Yasmeen almost spat the food out upon hearing what he said.

She stared at his perfect body, it was a ten out of ten. How could he say that he was on a diet?

She suspected that he was trying to hint to her that she was fat.

Yasmeen looked at her waist and indeed, she did gain some weight recently.

“Are you implying something?”



“I knew that you weren’t very bright ever since we were children. But I didn’t think that you’ll be like this
even now. Drink your milk, it helps with the growth of your brain!”

Lucas passed her the milk and stood up. He started cleaning up the table.

He had an aura of an elite, but he was used to doing housework. This didn’t affect his aura, instead, it
made him more worldly.

Yasmeen put her hand on her chin and stared admiringly at Lucas. She muttered, “Such a perfect man.
How did he become my boyfriend? Am I that charming, or are you too easy?”

Lucas’ mouth twitched, he wanted to say how she could call him easy when she spent almost twenty
years chasing after him. But then he thought that he was mean to her today, he didn’t want to overdo it
and lose his new girlfriend.

Well, they had still a long time ahead.

He wasn’t in a rush, he had time.

Yasmeen thought that Lucas would scoff at her, but he just stayed quiet. She felt embarrassed even
though she was normally thick-skinned.

“Should I use acupuncture on you again?”

“No need, I can hear again. But let’s keep it a secret, for the time being. There’s no need for other
people to know this.”

Hearing this made Yasmeen happy.

“A secret between us?”

“Yes.”



“Not even Michele should know about this?”

Yasmeen stared at Lucas with her shining eyes.

Lucas sighed quietly. He turned around and looked at Yasmeen, he then ruffled her hair until it was all
messy. He said, “I treat Michele like my sister, and you’re my girlfriend. You are different.”

Yasmeen combed her messed-up hair bitterly, she muttered wistfully, “She doesn’t think of you as a
brother.”

“Then what do you want me to do? Should I ignore her in the future? Keep my distance with her and
not talk to her?”

This wasn’t realistic.

No matter what kind of feelings Michele had towards Lucas, they were still on the same troop. They
would definitely meet if not just for their work, and this was the thing that Yasmeen was worried about.

But she couldn’t do anything.

Lucas could tell that Yasmeen was dejected. He walked up and hugged her, his voice was gentle as he
said.

“You have to believe in me. If I wanted to date Michele from the beginning, I wouldn’t wait until now. I
chose you, and I would stay with you forever. You’re the only one for me.”

Yasmeen was easily pleased. She was happy again and felt elated.

She knew that she was too stupid in love. She was easily pleased and she would believe whatever
Lucas said.



But if the man she chased for twenty years wasn’t a good person, then it would be on her.

Not to mention that Lucas had Samuel and Nicole as an example. She believed that he wouldn’t be so
fickle.

Yasmeen flirted as she grabbed Lucas’ collar, “You said it, I’m the only one for you, now and forever.”

“Yes, you’re my one and only.”

Lucas booped her nose with his finger and looked at her affectionately.

He felt serenity seeing her laughing stupidly. This had to be what it meant to have a peaceful and
happy life.

He suddenly understood the relationship between his parents even more. It was the type of relationship
that nothing could replace, and it seemed that he had found his own love.

Lucas stayed at Yasmeen’s place for a bit before heading back. He still had to walk on the top of the
wall. Yasmeen’s face twitched a bit seeing how Lucas climbed the wall so naturally.

“Princess.”

She was still lost in her thoughts, lost in happiness and bliss. Her heart skipped a beat when she heard
the guard calling out to her abruptly.

“I told you not to come here if nothing is going on! I am safe here!”

Said Yasmeen as she turned around annoyedly. But then she was taken aback when she saw the
person standing next to the guard.

It was him.

But if the man she chased for twenty years wasn’t a good person, then it would be on her.

Not to mention that Lucas had Samuel and Nicole as an example. She believed that he wouldn't be so
fickle.
