Chapter 1653 Negotiation With Jonathan

After Shirley left, Rocky immediately entered the Magic Spiritual Space so that he could make the
necessary preparations for the upcoming battle.

Then, early the next morning, the well-prepared guards and the other elite members of the Holy Dragon
Empire went to the appointed place to wait for the signal that would come from Rocky and the others.

At the same time, Rocky and Colton went straight for the door to the alien world through the only
passage that the Shura Race had left for them.

Not long after, Rocky and Colton appeared in front of the door, but there was no one there.

Then, a man in silver armor walked out of the camp beside the door. In a flash, he landed in front of the
two, exuding an arrogant and frightening aura.

"So, only the two of you?" Jonathan from the Shura Race was not really surprised to see that Rocky
and Colton were the only ones that showed up. After all, he knew that Rocky was smart enough not to
lead a huge army that would just be ambushed by the forces of the Shura Race that were lurking
around. Moreover, his only true goal was Rocky since he was confirmed to be the biggest threat to the
Shura Race.

"You! Where is Canaan? Tell him to show up right now! I shall get my revenge once and for all!" Colton
shouted at the sight of Jonathan.

"Ha-ha! Canaan?" Jonathan suddenly burst into laughter upon hearing the name that Colton uttered.

"What's so funny?" Colton asked as he gave an icy glare towards Jonathan.

"You guys are so stupid. Do you really think that the real Canaan can kill the chief of the Di Clan?"
Jonathan retorted with a mocking grin.



"So, what are you trying to say?" Obviously, Colton could not figure out the meaning behind Jonathan's
words.

"You disguised yourself as Canaan…" Seeing the devious expression on Jonathan's face, Rocky
thought that it should be what he meant.

"Exactly! You are a lot smarter! Do you want to hear something cool? The real Canaan died about ten
years ago," Jonathan revealed indifferently.

"Then, that makes things easier. I am going to kill you to avenge our chief!" As soon as Jonathan
admitted that he was the one who killed the chief by disguising himself as Canaan, he instantly became
impulsive and wanted to kill the real culprit.

However, Rocky immediately stopped Colton and persuaded him, "Commander in Chief Colton, don't
be too rash! Remember that he was able to easily kill the chief of the Di Clan. He is not someone to be
underestimated!"

Hearing this, Colton tried so hard to restrain his anger.

"Are you saying that you have blended with the human race for ten years?" Rocky asked as his eyes
narrowed. He didn't expect that Jonathan had been that patient, hiding his true identity for all those
years.

"Humph! Ten years is nothing! That's just a small thing to do in order to achieve our race's great
cause!" Jonathan replied with utter disdain.

"All of this just to destroy the human race? What did we ever do to the Shura Race?" Rocky continued
to pry because he was actually very intrigued about Jonathan's real motive. For him to blend with the
human race for ten years, there must be a more delicate explanation for this.



"Ha-ha! The humans didn't do anything, but your race's destruction is the first step to achieve our
plans. Our next step is to annex the spiritual race. Then, in the end, we will unify the entire Supreme
Ether Land again!" Jonathan finally blurted out the ambitions of the Shura Race without restraint.

"But I still don't understand something. With the superior strength of the Shura Race, you can just
directly send out your troops to obliterate both the human race and the spiritual race, right? Why do you
have to waste ten years just to gradually weaken the human race?" Rocky asked with furrowed brows.

"No, we can't do that. If the Shura Race displayed too much strength, it would disrupt the balance of
the Supreme Ether Land. And if that happens, all of the Supreme Ether Land will be in grave danger,
and we are going to be punished by the wrath of heaven. You are actually right. The Shura Race is
strong enough to dominate the whole continent, but we can't directly vanquish the other forces. Why do
you even think was the reason for spending so much effort in opening the door to another world and
taking its citizens to become our slaves? Our main purpose is to establish and maintain the balance of
this world. But of course, we must make sure that we are still the domineering race," Jonathan
explained in detail.

"What comes after you unite the Supreme Ether Land? The Shura Race will still be the strongest
existence by then, yet this world will be out of balance," Rocky remarked coldly.

"Of course, that is a part of it! The struggle of a dynasty to be restored and destroyed repeatedly is the
process that the Shura Race enjoys. After we unify the continent, we let the human race and the
spiritual race regain some hope. So, we deliberately let them resist again, making them think that this
time, they might overthrow us already. Then, the land would return to the situation of tripartite
confrontation. With that, another cycle begins. No one really knows that we have been in full control,
and this is just our way to rule the land forever." Jonathan revealed the real situation that had been
going on for countless years now.



"I see. So, the human race and the spiritual race are just pawns in your game. Therefore, no matter
what happens, in the end, your race will always be the winner." From all that he heard, Rocky finally
understood what was going on in the minds of the members of the Shura Race. They spent a lot of
time creating an elaborate plan to deceive the other two races and even heaven. This was so they
could avoid the laws of the world and create an illusion for everyone in the Supreme Ether Land.

"Anyway, enough talking. I know that you are here for Alyssa. I am going to say this outright. If you
want to save her, your life shall be the payment," Jonathan said as he made a gesture by slashing his
neck.

"Really? Then you have a deal. However, I demand that you let Alyssa go first!" Rocky replied without
hesitation.

"Ha! You are not in the position to negotiate. As long as you die, I will let her go. I am not going back on
my word. In fact, if it weren't for you, she wouldn't have to suffer this much. After all, she is the woman
that I like. Once she agrees to marry me, I will give her endless wealth and glory," Jonathan answered
haughtily.

"Fine. Let me see her first, and then you can take my life as you wish," Rocky said with a straight face.

"Well, I did not expect that it will be easy dealing with you. Here you go," Jonathan quickly agreed and
granted Rocky's wish. Then, he waved his hand.

A moment later, Alyssa, who was shackled, was immediately brought out by two members of the Shura
Race.

"Alyssa, are you all right?" Seeing that Alyssa seemed to be safe and sound, Rocky was able to
breathe a sigh of relief.



"You, silly guy! Yes, I am fine, but you shouldn't be here. Don't even think of fighting Jonathan. Don't die
just because of me!" Of course, Alyssa was elated to see Rocky, but soon enough, she became
dejected. After all, she knew that if Rocky stayed there any longer, his life would be in danger.

Then, Rocky smiled at Alyssa and told Jonathan, "I hope you don't go back on your word. Let go of
Alyssa once I die."

"Of course. As long as you die, all of our problems will vanish as well." Jonathan scoffed and nodded
slightly.

"All right then. Although I'm afraid that I want to be the one to do this myself..." Upon finishing his
words, Rocky suddenly pulled out the Mystical Dragon Sword and tossed it in the air. Then, the sword
circled in the air and flew towards his chest with incredible momentum.

In a flash, the sword pierced through Rocky's body, making him kneel before eventually falling to the
ground.
