Chapter 1709 The Opposite Cliff

It didn't take long for the fake Valeria to get close to the entrance, but unfortunately, Jordy had caught
up with her and stopped her.

Meanwhile, the real Valeria was approaching the entrance of the lair.

But a middle level warrior at the Emperor Realm that was nearby had noticed her presence and hurried
over to stop her. If she were prevented from reaching the entrance, the whole plan would fail.

Just as the warrior was about to catch up with Valeria, a hand reached up from the ground. The warrior,

started to chase Valeria again.

"Master Jordy, I have bad news! Someone is passing through the entrance!" the warrior shouted.

"What? Wait a minute..." At that moment, Jordy realized that he had been fooled. He glared at the fake
Valeria in front of him and stomped his foot against the ground. He couldn't even chase after Valeria
because he would be going against the rules of this game.

Vivian sighed out of relief when she saw that Valeria had successfully entered the Nether Dragon
King's lair. She immediately ordered the guards to retreat. Now that their goal had been achieved, the
fight was over. It would be pointless to continue it. After all, they had to be alive if they wanted to escort
Rocky and Valeria out of the Nether Fire Land when they came back.

If either Rocky or Valeria completed the task, the other Godly Geniuses would envy them. There was
no doubt that they would try to kill them to advance during the next competition.



To put it bluntly, it was easy to enter the Nether Fire Land, but it would be difficult to exit it.

When he noticed Vivian and her team retreating, Jordy let them go because he also understood that a

hands thoughtfully.

"We should head there now that the enchanted barrier has been broken. If we work together, it should
be easy for us to enter the Nether Dragon King's lair," Drew, the Godly Genius from the Elite Fief, who
was wearing a black robe, suggested.

"Okay." Quentin nodded without any objections.

After some preparation, the two guard teams launched an attack against the guard team from the
Primitive Fief that was guarding the entrance of the Nether Dragon King's lair, trying to cover for the
Godly Geniuses as they entered the lair.

In the meantime, Valeria had entered the lair. As she looked around, she noticed how the light ahead of
her was dim and blurring the scenery. A very strange aura was seeping from the depths of the lair.



She knew that it came from the Nether Dragon King.

Taking out a jade bead, she infused it with her spiritual power. It lit up and illuminated her surroundings.
When she examined them, she saw a very spacious cave in front of her that split into three different
paths.

"Did that guy make in it too?" In the past, Valeria didn't cared whether Rocky was alive or dead. But
ever since Rocky had saved her, her attitude towards him had changed a little.

She waited for about thirty minutes and she still didn't see Rocky. She assumed that he had already
entered, so she didn't want to wait any longer. After deciding a path to follow, she started moving
forward.

She found herself walking along a winding, narrow tunnel.

After an hour, Valeria reached the end of the tunnel. As she lifted the jade bead to light her path, she
saw that there was a cliff ahead of her. She took two careful steps forward and looked down, only to
find that the cliff was bottomless. There was an area a hundred meters across the cliff where she could
stand.

If she wanted to go deeper into the lair, she had to fly over the abyss. Otherwise, she would have to
retrace her steps and choose another fork in the road. That was a waste of time.

She had enough strength to easily fly over a gap that was only one hundred meters wide.

She took some deep breaths and rose into the air, jumping directly towards the opposite side of the
cliff.

However, when she had reached the ten meter point, a strong suction force came up from the abyss
and started pulling her body down. She lost her balance in midair. Now, she was desperately trying to



get rid of the suction force but her efforts were fruitless.

"Damn it!" Her face paled when she realized that she was stuck. There was nothing around her that
she could cling to. If she fell down, she would either die or be trapped.

With very few options available, she tried the Spiritual Flower Technique. In an instant, some vines
grew outwards from the rock wall and intertwined with each other, reaching towards her.

However, the suction force of the abyss was getting stronger. Before the vines got to her, Valeria's body
had fallen over ten meters and she could no longer reach them.

Just as she was about to be devoured by the dark abyss, a figure came into view and quickly
approached her using the vines. He grabbed her arm right before she descended too far.

Valeria glanced up and was surprised to see Rocky's face.

He had entered the lair right after she had. But in order to prevent someone from ambushing them, he
had chosen to stay hidden and follow Valeria secretly.

Now that he was holding onto Valeria, the powerful suction force of the abyss was pulling both of them
down. The thick, long vines were starting to snap.

Rocky narrowed his eyes and thought hard. He didn't have a lot of options. Unless there was a force
strong enough to resist the suction force, the two of them wouldn't be able to escape.

After some quick thinking, he decided to infuse his spiritual power into the arm that he was holding
Valeria with. Then, he used all his power to lift her and throw her at the opposite cliff. But his strength
was not enough for her to make it all the way. So he took out a Potent Force Rune and infused his
spiritual power into it. Then, he dropped it.



A moment later, the power released by the Potent Force Rune exploded and formed a huge spiritual
wave.

The impact of the spiritual wave was enough to cut off the suction force from Valeria and get her to
safety on the other side.
