Notified of his departure, Sage felt relieved yet, for some peculiar reason, sad at the same time.

She requested a copy of the surveillance footage of the lobby. There, she saw how Jace’s usually cold
and greave demeanor cracked with anger. “I’m so proud that I am able to make him this angry,’ she
said, berating herself.

Sage knew that Jace had never been given the cold shoulder, and now, it was Sage who had refused
him.

She had been the person who had tiptoed around him, and now, she was the one to give him a taste of
his own medicine.

“This actually feels sort of nice,’Sage thought to herself.

She watched video Jace leave through the main entrance, and she scoffed This is what you deserve
for divorcing me and marrying that witch,’ she thought to herself.

Although Finn was one of Sage’s closest friends, he was unaware of Sage’s whereabouts the past
three years she was missing. He was filled with suspicion as he watched her check the surveillance
footage.

This Mister Yuriel… don’t tell me he is the Jace Yuriel, the director of Yuriel Group in Nadeem City?”

Sage nodded

Finn was feeling more confused. “Norah Group and Yuriel Group have been rivals since the beginning,
and we had never worked with them. So, what is Jace Yuriel doing here?”



No one, not even Finn, knew that she had been married to Jace Yuriel. Only the five brothers of the
Bennett family knew of her marriage.

Sage had never planned on telling Finn, and now that she was divorced, there was no point in telling
him.

“Leave him be.”



Sage stopped the video, collected herself, and continued, “Regarding what we were discussing, there
are some parts of the proposal that I think need more editing…”

On the drive back, Jace’s expression was grave and gloomy.

The weather in Salem City was gloomy. It was enough to dampen one’s good mood. Jace wound down
the car window, lit a cigarette, and exhaled his irritation

Zayn was still upset by the earlier events. He said, “Sir, is Miss Sage really Ma’am? Could it be that we
were mistaken? That Miss Sage is too overbearing and bossy. She could not even be bothered to meet
with you! How is it possible that she is ma’am? Ma’am has always been soft and gentle, especially
when she’s with you. She’s as tame as a cat. She would greet you with a face full of smiles whenever
you showed up.”

Maybe the nicotine had finally clouded his head, but he suddenly saw a flash of Sage’s bright smile. It

The cigarette bumed his fingertips, and Jace was yanked back to reality by the slight burn. “Zip it!”
growled Jace irritably to the rambling Zayne.

Zayne could sense the overflowing anger in Jace’s tone and knew to keep quiet.

There was dead silence in the car.

Not long after, the ringing of a phone broke the silence.

“Hey,” Jace answered his phone with a dead and flat voice.

A silvery voice flowed to him from the other end of the line. “Why do you sound so down? Are things
are not turning out well? What’s up? Your ex-wife had given you a cold shoulder or did she slap you?”
