Jim’s eyes sparkled in anticipation and responded timidly, “I shouldn’t, I’m afraid Master would kill me if
he hears that…” “Who is higher in seniority, me or your Master?” Sage asked. “You, of course.” “That’s
right, I have your back. Don’t be intimidated by him.” Sage took another sip of the tea.

Jim smiled brightly and said, “Alright then, Miss!” The way Jim said miss sounded so gentle and
pleasing to the ears. Anyone would be easily charmed by that. Sage had a handful of older brothers
and two younger sisters; not a single younger brother. Having a younger boy showing her respect and
treating her like an older sister felt pretty refreshing. “Miss, what’s your relationship with my brother?”
Jim asked as he sat aside and continuously poured and served Sage with hot tea. “Your brother is
going to be working as a signed artist under my company.” Sage explained calmly. “Oh, I see.”

Jim frowned and said, “Dean was in a pretty bad mood a while back, like something had been
bothering him. Lately though, he’s become more chirpier, it must be because of you, Miss.”

The knot between Jim’s brows loosened up as he turned to smile brightly at Sage. “The Sylas brothers
will be under your care from now on then!”

Sage almost choked on her tea upon hearing that, what an odd thing to say. “Miss, are you alright?”
Jim rushed to get some napkins to wipe the spillage off Sage’s mouth. Sage took the napkin from his
hands and said awkwardly, “I got it.” ‘Are kids these days as smooth as him? They’re so
overwhelmingly passionate.’ Sage thought.

Jim finally decided to leave as he waved Sage goodbye.

Sage looked up and him and asked, “How are you going home?” “I’ll take the subway.” “The last train
left a long time ago, I’ll send you home.” Sage frowned and said. “That’s too much trouble…” “Just get
in.” “Roger.”



Jim sat quietly and politely inside Sage’s car, like a first grader. He only responded whenever

Sage said something, nothing more. “What is a basketballer doing in the kitchen as an apprentice?”
“I’ve always liked cooking ever since I was a kid, my ambition was to become a chef, actually. I just
happened to be taller than average and good at playing basketball, which was why the school team
picked me. Dean said becoming an athlete isn’t too bad, and that it’d be great if I could get into the
national team, win a medal or two.” “So what exactly is your ambition? Is it to become a chef, or a
national basketballer?”

Sage felt like one of those motivational speakers, encouraging a kid and whatnot. Jim looked at Sage,
his eyes sparkled as he spoke with utter confidence, “My dream is to become a professional
basketballer who is also great at cooking!” Kids being kids, of course they would pick both options.
Sage was charmed by how adorable Jim was, she chuckled and nodded her head in approval. ‘A
professional basketballer who is also great at cooking… How cool would that be huh?’
