Grandpa Yuriel‘s face turned solemn after Sage left. He patted Jace‘s shoulder and

Jace nodded, his eyes full of determination. “Grandpa, don‘t worry. I understand. God has given me

The lunch preparation took a long time.

“I thought you died, kid!” Mendoza touched Jace all over his body and made sure he was okay. Then,
he raised his fist and punched him hard on the shoulder. “Don‘t scare us like this again!” Jace covered
his shoulder and said with a friendly smile, “I won‘t.” Wayne stared at Sage‘s name on Jace‘s head. He
narrowed his eyes with his pipe in his mouth.” Kid, who gave you this haircut?”

Jace turned to Wayne. He knew Wayne and Sage were probably the ones who knew Sawyer‘s script
best in the world. Wayne could tell with just a glance. Jace could not hide it at all.



However, Sawyer and Primrose were not back yet. He did not want to reveal their whereabouts, so he
could not tell Wayne the truth.



As he was thinking about what to say, Sage came over from the kitchen with the dishes in her hand.

She greeted them and said, “Grandpa, you guys came at the right time. We‘re about to start eating.”

Sage handed the dishes to Jace and told him to take Mendoza in first. Meanwhile, she took Wayne‘s
arm and whispered in his ear, “It‘s dad‘s writing. Mom cut his hair.”

Wayne stopped in his tracks and stared at Sage. His eyes widened in shock.

“They‘re not dead. I‘ll tell you the rest later.”

Wayne had not returned to his senses even until the end of the meal. All he had in his mind

was that his son and daughter–in–law were still alive. He thought, ‘They are not dead. That is good
news. They are not dead, but they never come back sooner to visit! What the heck!‘ Wayne‘s emotions
were complicated, with a moment of joy and a moment of anger. Everyone at the table ate and chatted
like it was New Year. It was rare for everyone to gather around at the same time.

Henry and Zachary kept eating during the meal. They were fighting for their mom‘s food with their dads.
For the first time in their lives, they found their mother‘s cooking so good! They were so touched that
they wanted to cry. From then on, their mother‘s image became better and more glorious in their mind.

When everyone had almost finished their meal, Freya came back. They looked at Freya walking in and
looked very surprised.



Jace had not seen his mother standing and walking in many years. He slowly stood up and greeted
her. This scene reminded him of his past. When he was young, he always jumped into his mother‘s
arms with a smile and called for her ‘Mom‘ in a sweet voice,

“Mom...” The adult Jace walked to Freya and greeted her with a trembling voice. “You... Has your leg
