Jaxon felt guilty. Jaxon was not a prominent actor, and he did not even have a
professional degree. Instead, he came from the poorer suburbs, and he went to an athletic school to
achieve his diploma. Though he came from a poor family, Jaxon was ambitious. However, he was
unwilling to become a sports trainer like most of his classmates, as he felt it was a waste of his time.
While he was at school, there was a popular television show about the military. One of his seniors from
school was chosen as the main lead, and he got famous.

Jaxon saw hope for his future.

He entered the entertainment industry through relations with his senior, and he started as an action-
movie double, and he dreamed of following his senior’s path of success. Unfortunately, in reality, he
was not as lucky as him, and he was still unable to rise to fame after being in the industry for eight
years.

Jaxon risked his pride to be in the movie and begged the producer to finally land this role. With Lincoln
as the director, it was his closest chance to be famous. Alas, his role was switched from the second
lead to the third lead. As a result, he lost a lot of screen time.

Dean took his role because he was brought in by the executive producer.

Relations were way more important than anything in this industry. Dean was the most-talked celebrity
of that era, and he had ten times more followers on Twidder than he did. His fans would buy anything
he advertised. Jaxon was nothing but a D-lister compared to Dean. Even so, Jaxon felt that the
decision was unfair. If Dean was nothing more than a pretty face, the audience would complain when
the movie came out. Jaxon could wait until then. However, Dean was far more suitable for the
character than Jaxon, and he looked exactly like how the character was described. He was a good
script memorizer too. Jaxon wanted to clap for him, scene after scene.





Most importantly, Jaxon refused to believe Dean’s martial arts skills were not below his. He only
needed to rehearse each choreographed move twice, and he performed elegantly with each turn and
flip. Everyone cheered as he performed every move.

Jaxon felt that his pride was utterly hurt. He had nothing left to outshine Dean. Perhaps that was his
last straw.

In that scene, the crew arranged for his character, Johann, to push Dean’s character Erik off the cliff,
but in reality, they were at a hilltop. Unfortunately, it was very slippery, and he’ accidentally pushed too
hard, and as a result, Dean fell off the hill.

As Jaxon watched Dean fall, he thought to himself that Dean was no better than him. They were both
there because of their connections, and Dean had more powerful connections than him.

‘I could’ve been Erik if it wasn’t for you,’ Jaxon thought.

The executive producer came by. Was she there seeking justice for Dean? Sage stared at Jaxon for
quite some time, and she finally said, “I watched your acting earlier. You’re not bad. Pretty
professional.” His manager, Sunny, smirked and praised Jaxon from head to toe. Then, she pulled
Jaxon back to reality after a long pause and said, “Miss Sage is giving you compliments.” “Miss Sage,
thank… Thank you,” Jaxon replied.

Sage looked satisfied. She turned to Lincoln and said, “Dean suffered a serious injury, and he won’t be
back for some time. Wasn’t Jaxon one of the backups for the character Erik? He could try it out.”



Everyone on the crew was astonished. Were they switching roles? Dean had filmed many scenes
before his injury, so it meant reshooting multiple scenes. It was going to burn a large hole in their
pockets.

Sage’s pockets must have been deep. Lincoln accepted the proposal. “Yeah, let’s try that out.”
