Jim only recognized Sage when she approached him at arm’s length. “Didn’t you
recognize me with my new hair?” Sage asked casually. She had no makeup on, and she let her hair dry
naturally. She was only having dinner with her staff, so there was no need to impress anyone. Tasteful
Restaurant had great lighting, and everyone looked gorgeous under the lights. Sage’s hair was the
color of a bright rose under the lights. Her skin was as smooth as a baby’s bottom, and it was
translucent. It was a huge contrast compared to the other girls who had a thick layer of makeup. Jim’s
eyes were glued to Sage. He looked a little silly as his mouth gaped open. “Grand-”

“Hush.”

Sage stopped him from calling her Grandmaster.

“Call me Miss Sage.”

Jim pursed his lips and corrected himself. “Miss Sage.” Sage previously told him that her identity as the
heiress had to be kept secret, and no one could ever know. He was prohibited from revealing it to the
public as well.

Jim finally came around and scratched his head. Then, he explained awkwardly, “I thought you were a
young lady walking toward me. I didn’t recognize you earlier.” “Hahaha!”

The other women were all laughing at him. One of the designers in her thirties said, “Young man, Miss
Sage is only twenty-five years old this year. She’s still a young lady.” She came close to him and asked,
“How old are you, young man? Aren’t you under eighteen?” The women laughed again.



Jim felt embarrassed by their teasing. He looked up at Sage and said, “I’m already twenty years

old!”



“Oh, gosh. No wonder your face is so soft…” The staff came over and tried to pinch his face, but Sage
stopped them in time.

“He’s the chef tonight. Please have some respect for your chef.”

They finally stopped their antics. It was a huge taboo to disrespect the chef. What if they spat in the
food, or worse, put poison in it? Sage dragged Jim back to the kitchen. “Come, let me look at what
you’re preparing for us tonight.”

Jim looked at his wrist, and his face started to burn up. He got shy.

Sage was unaware of what went on, she let go of his hand once they were in the kitchen. She

“Jim, what are you waiting for? Show your grandmaster your skills!”

E-Myles was puzzled as to why Jim was so hazed suddenly.

“Oh, oh. Okay.”

Jim turned around and clumsily grabbed the wooden spoon from his master. He stirred the pot and
almost spilled it everywhere.

Myles could not bear to watch as he lectured Jim from the side.

Sage interjected, “Alright, stop lecturing him. Jim must be terrified of the beasts out there.”



She smiled at Jim. “You’ve got to learn how to protect yourself. Don’t be easily manipulated by anyone,
okay?”
