Primrose pondered Sage’s suggestion and agreed. This time, it was her turn to give Sagea thumbs up.

Sage drove back to the Yuriel family’s old residence. She saw Jace from a distance as soon as she
entered. He was standing in the doorway smoking a cigarette,

It was a cloudy day where dark clouds filled the sky. It felt like it was going to rain soon.

Jace wore a light gray coat with a dark scarf around his neck. He leaned against the greenish gray
stone wall and dropped his head slightly. He held the cigarette between his fingertips and looked a little
lonely.

“Look at him. He looks like he’s doing a photo shoot.”

Primrose was stunned. “Well, putting everything else aside, your ex-husband does have a good look
and body. He looks so handsome just standing casually on the street. You’re just like me in your taste
in men.”

Sage did not say anything but slowed down the car. It was rare for Sage not to refute her mother’s
word.

and quickly wrapped it around her neck. He wrapped it carefully and even tied it in a knot. Then, he
handed another scarf to Primrose.



He actually had two scarves with him.

Primrose thanked him but refused to take it. “I don’t want it. It’s ugly. It’ll affect my style.”

“It’s better to be ugly than to be frozen,” a voice that came from the door said.

Sawyer came out, and he took the scarf from Jace’s hand and wrapped it around Primrose’s neck in
the same way.

Primrose’s resistance was futile, she could only mutter, “It’s already April. Is there anyone else who
wears a scarf now?”

“What’s wrong with wearing a scarf in April? Some people wear them in June.” Sawyer did not

waste his time persuading her. He stared at Primrose and frowned at her stubbornness. “Why are you
dressed so little? Why don’t you just run naked?”



“I can’t. My body is yours. Only you can see it. No one else can see it.” Primrose looked up and threw
herself into Sawyer’s arms with a bright smile.

Sage was rendered speechless by her parent’s strong affection for each other. She moved to Jace to
hide and refused to look at this overly sweet scene. She could not help but complain,” You’re an old
married couple, and you’re still so overly lovey-dovey.” “That’s why we need to be more lovey-dovey.
How would young people like you understand anything?” Primrose refuted her daughter. Then, she
turned back to her husband with a sweet face. “Honey, let’s go in. Don’t let them watch the show for
free.” Sawyer smiled dotingly. “Mmm.” After they left, Sage sighed and said to Jace with a sad face,
“Now, do you know what my life has been since I was a kid?”

Jace nodded with a smile. “I learned that on the island too. It must’ve been hard on you.” Sage sighed
and shook her head. Parents that quarreled all day were a disservice to children, but overly lovey-
dovey parents were the same too!

Sage and Primrose told everyone else about what they learned in the hospital. The truth had put Freya
and Jace in a pensive mood.
