After Wayne saw Sage, his stern expression turned into a faint smile.

“Sage, you’re back.” “Grandpa.”

Sage took a few steps forward. She asked Hunter to put the gifts that Nigel had prepared for Wayne at
the side, and she conveyed Nigel’s concern to him. Wayne nodded in appreciation. “That’s very
considerate of Nigel.” Hunter looked at Zane, who kneeled on the ground, with a cold gaze. The disgust
he had for his future father-in-law in his eyes was unconcealable.

Nigel was not Wayne’s grandson, but he still prepared some food and drinks for him. On the other
hand, Zane, Wayne’s son, came empty-handed, and he had the cheek to beg him for help.

Both the brothers, Braxton and Zane, were the same. They only knew how to take, but they did not
know how to give.

Thanks to Zane’s indifference toward Leah and his lack of involvement in her upbringing, ‘Leah did not
go down the wrong path. Otherwise, if he had brought her up, he would have

raised her to be like Yeva.

“Uncle Zane, how could you disturb Grandpa’s rest?”

Sage lowered her eyes slightly and looked toward Zane. Her tone seemed very calm.

“Uncle Braxton angered Grandpa so badly that he had a cerebral hemorrhage. If you were to piss him
off until any mishaps happened to him, would you be able to take responsibility for that?”

Her tone was calm and collected, but Zane clearly heard the coldness and threats between her words.



He could not help but recall the miserable state his brother, Braxton, ended up in. He moved his knees
in fear to dodge a little as if he was afraid that Sage would beat him up. He then hurriedly asked Wayne
for help, “Dad, save me. She wants to kill your son…”

Seeing that Zane was about to rush to Wayne recklessly, Sage squinted and called out softly,” Mister
Wando.”

As soon as she finished saying his name, Mister Wando’s foot, which had combat boots on, seemed to
have eyes and accurately kicked Zane’s waist with a mighty force. Zane immediately sent flying away
and rolled a few times on the ground.



Wayne frowned and subconsciously wanted to help his son up, but he ruthlessly retracted his hand.

were to continue spoiling them, he would send them to their deaths, and he may not

have a choice but to make their funeral arrangements for them.

Zane lay flat on his stomach on the ground, unable to climb back up. Zane curled up into a ball in pain.

lifted her head and met Hunter’s gentle eyes.

He opened his crimson lips slightly and whispered to her, “Don’t be afraid.”



Leah nodded her head gently. She immediately felt relieved. Sage initially did not want to let Wayne
see that image. However, some things were better clarified in front of her grandpa. She sat on the
chair, and her cold eyes bore into Zane, who was curled up on the ground in immense pain.

“Uncle Zane, I had sent many men to invite you to come and visit Grandpa. However, you were
extremely busy. You were more occupied than the head of state. You can’t even squeeze out a little bit
of your time. Therefore, I had no choice but to ‘invite’ you over.”

When Wayne heard that, he could not help but laugh miserably. He was already rather old, so he was
more and more longing for his family’s affection. He clearly knew that his sons were ungrateful people,
but he still could not help but be concerned about them as their father. However, how could there be
any place in his sons’ hearts for him—their father?
