Chapter 26: The One behind the Scene

“The groom-to-be, Kingsley and the bride-to-be, Michelle, sincerely invite their good friend, Hayden, to
come to the engagement banquet…”

A line of typed words that looked like handwriting was particularly eye-catching. The inner page was
inlaid with the cartoon image of the two people. Hayden clutched the corners of the invitation card and
her eyes somewhat darkened.

After thinking carefully, it seemed like this matter was expectable. When she met Michelle in the
elevator last time, she see that Michelle was already wearing the ring that meant so much to her in the
past.

However, the unexpected thing was that they surprisingly dared to send her an invitation card. Hayden
leaned on the sofa while her lips curled into a self-deprecating smile. When she thought of the incident
five years ago, her emotions somehow hit her like a bullet through her chest.

If it was not because of Kingsley and Michelle, she would not be in this situation today.

People said that if a woman never loved a jerk in her life, her experience in love was not considered
complete. If there was an additional saying that the life of someone who did not meet a bosom friend
who betrayed him or her was not considered complete, Hayden felt that her life was indeed extremely
complete.

The invitation card was then simply thrown under the coffee table by her without bothering it anymore.

When you accidentally stepped on dog shit, was there a need to smell it to see if it was stank?

The next day was an off day. Hayden originally intended to think about the anniversary project planning
but was awakened early in the morning by the doorbell.



The moment she opened the door, she saw a handsome man and a pretty woman in which the man
looked sedate while the woman looked gentle. Both of them were dressed neatly and formally with a
briefcase in their hands.

“Sorry, my family doesn’t need insurance.”

Hayden directly rejected them and prepared to close the door.

The woman hurriedly spoke.

“Ms. Downey is it? We’re the assistant administrators from Blue Castle Bilingual Kindergarten.”

Hayden widened her eyes in astonishment.

The woman smiled and reached out her hand.

“My name is Rita Dewey while he is Marvin Alfred. The reason we’re here now is to conduct a routine
home visit before Stella enters kindergarten. It mainly aims to learn about the child’s daily habits, living
habits, past medical history and so on.”

Five minutes later.

Hayden came out of the bathroom after getting washed. She embarrassedly looked at the man and the
woman sitting on the coffee table.

“I’m sorry, I don’t know that the kindergarten implements the pre-admission home visits.”

Rita was still showing a soft and gentle look.

“It’s all stated in the admission letter. Ms. Downey hasn’t read it yet?”



Hayden awkwardly glanced at the folders scattered on the table, “To be frank, I’ve only read half of the
document and I actually have no intention to send my daughter to your school.”

“No intention?” Rita revealed an incredulous look and asked, “Is there something about our school that
makes Ms. Downey dissatisfied?”

“No…”

Hayden never visited Blue Castle Bilingual Kindergarten before, “I just feel that Stella may not really be
suitable for such an environment in Blue Castle Bilingual Kindergarten. You guys should be able to
understand the specific reason.”

She simply pointed at the house.

The size of Alayna’s house was 397 m2 and it consisted of two rooms and a living room. Even though it
was considered quite spacious, compared to the houses of children from families that could afford them
to study in Blue Castle Bilingual Kindergarten, it was perhaps even smaller than the bedrooms of their
houses.

“If this is what Ms. Downey worries about, you really don’t need to worry about it.”

Rita pushed the glasses on her nose. Seemingly relieved, she smiled and said.

“I think you know the school fees are totally free. Stella won’t have a penny of extra expenses after
entering our school, Mr. Beckham has already made this clear.”

“Really don’t need…”

The fact that Joseph gave her such a big gift in return was the reason she resolutely refused to accept
it.



“Ms. Downey, I don’t think any other school will be more attractive to you than our school,” the man
beside Rita suddenly spoke with a deep voice.

He steadily opened the black folder in his hand.

“The Blue Castle Children's Hospital within our kindergarten is in collaboration with Beijing
Pharmaceutical Corporation. Their best paediatrician in the field of traditional Chinese medicine, Dr.
Tamara Wilson, is working at our school. Perhaps you can search for this via the Internet.”

When she heard the words Beijing Pharmaceutical Corporation, Hayden’s eyelids twitched. And when
she heard Tamara Wilson’s name, her expression changed, “What do you say?”

“We’ve learnt some of Stella’s medical history. I think there is no way to completely cure congenital
asthma so far. Besides, we can’t guarantee that we can cure her but Dr. Wilson is an expert in this field.
If Stella is enrolled, she can be safeguarded from her health problem.”

Marvin’s voice echoed in the living room. Hayden’s eyes lit up as if she had successfully found a
lifeline.

The reason she decided to bring Stella back here to treat her asthma last time was because western
doctors abroad could not totally cure her. Moreover, it was getting out of control and she thought that
she could give traditional Chinese medicine a try. Tamara from Beijing Pharmaceutical Corporation was
the most famous paediatrician in the field of treating asthma. Hayden went around asking information
about her and found out that she had already gone back to Nanking to retire. This was the reason why
Hayden also came to Nanking.

However, she did not expect that after looking for so long, Tamara was actually hired to work at Blue
Castle Bilingual Kindergarten.

Her mind was slightly swayed.



“Ms. Downey, how about this, if you feel worried about it, you can let Stella enrol first to experience
school life in it for a period of time. And if you’re unsatisfactory, you can let her quit school and we’ll
recommend to you the other kindergartens that you want, what do you think?”

Rita’s face looked so sincere that someone would find it difficult to refuse her.

Hayden felt that although the two people in front of her were not insurance agents, their eloquences
were indeed as good as those insurance agents.

“Well, okay, I’ll give it a try then.”

Hayden felt that she would definitely not suffer from any loss as even if Tamara failed to cure Stella,
she could just let Stella quit school. Also, this kindergarten could recommend another kindergarten. So,
wasn’t it that she could just send Stella to the private kindergarten last time that she felt not bad?

After this matter was agreed upon, they asked her some simple details. After Rita and Marvin said
goodbye, they came out of the residential area and got into the car. As the car left the gate of the
residential area, the voice of the call sounded in the car.

“Mr. Beckham, the matter ordered by you is done.”

“…”

“Yes, we do this after we’ve finished the procedure of hiring Dr. Wilson to come to work.”

“…”

“We’ll take good care of Stella, don’t worry, Mr. Beckham.”

After hanging up the phone, the CEO office of ST Group became silent again.



Joseph looked at the medical history list in front of him. When he thought of Stella’s cute and lively
face, he really could not associate her with a disease like asthma.

If he had not felt Hayden’s reluctance to send Stella to Blue Castle Bilingual Kindergarten in her words
last night, he would not have the intention to investigate what was the reason she was so anxious to
find a kindergarten.

He originally thought that it was because she had high requirements but unexpectedly, it was actually
due to Stella’s health problem.

As he was pondering all this, the knocking sound of the door sounded.

“Come in.”

Viola opened the door and came in with two cups of coffee in her hands, “Joseph, I’ve bought the
americano which is your favourite.”

“Why are you coming here now?” Joseph faintly glanced at her.

“Aren’t we going to tell Harrison about the marriage tonight? I’m a little nervous.”

Viola pursed her lips. She looked slightly shy.

“Don’t you always go there before we go to tell him about the marriage?”

Joseph directly embarrassed her by criticizing her.

Embarrassed, Viola just bit the bullet and complained coquettishly.

“Blah, that is because I help you by becoming your actress for the show. The fake show becomes real
now so I’m bound to feel worried. Joseph, do you think my clothes today are appropriate? Will Harrison
like it?”



Joseph did not even look at it, “Whatever you like.”

“Joseph.”

Viola walked closer and was a bit annoyed. When she was about to vent her frustration, she noticed a
printed copy of a medical history list and clearly saw the name on it, Stella Downey.
