Chapter 41: I Never Compel Others

“Married?” Chelsea knitted her brows and chuckled, “How could it be possible? The household register
is still retained in my home. When she left at that year, she hadn’t graduated from the university. And
she’s only 24 now.”

Viola turned it over in her mind and said meaningfully, “Wasn’t she in a relationship at that time? Why
did she suddenly go abroad? Could it be that she went abroad together with her boyfriend? Didn’t you
say that she even didn’t finish her university courses?”

Chelsea looked more disdainful when mentioning about this matter, “Her boyfriend back then? Oh you
must know him. He’s Kingsley West, the eldest young master of the West Group. He had cheated her
with her bestie back then and they wished so much that the whole world would know about their
relationship. Only Hayden was kept in the dark. What a fool!”

“Yes? Kingsley West?”

Viola pondered for a while. It seemed that Chelsea didn’t know that her sister Hayden had given birth to
a child.

Hayden was still in Nanking six years ago and left the city five years ago. So it could be deduced that
the child should be given birth in Nanking. In this way, the child’s father was probably a citizen of
Nanking and of course he should not be Kingsley.

After leaving the golf course, Viola, who was sitting in the nanny van, reflected on this matter and

Joseph’s attitude towards Hayden was so weird. But Viola didn’t believe that Joseph would treat
Hayden so specially just because she had once saved Noah. Anyway, even if others might felt that she
was way too suspicious, Viola felt that she would only rest assured after making sure that Hayden
didn’t have any relationship with Joseph.

On the other side, Chelsea went back to her home.

As soon as she stepped into the house, her mother Sofia Mason walked over to greet her, “Dear
Chelsea, why’re you coming back so late? You missed the dinner.”

Chelsea wrapped her arm around Sofia’s and said intimately, “I went to the golf course with a friend
today and we chatted for a while. Oh, my friend’s name is Viola Kidman. You said that you like her TV
series back then, so I asked her to give me her signature.”

“My dear Chelsea is really thoughtful.” While praising her daughter, Sofia glanced at the direction of the

Chelsea knitted her brows. But just as she was about to say something, a fit of coughing sound
sounded from behind.

Sofia tipped her daughter a wink and walked over with a bright smile, “That’s it. It’s not safe for a girl to
stay away from home alone. I’m free these two days and I will ask others to help ask about her
residence. Nanking is not that big and it would be easy to find out her domicile.”

“Well.” Bently picked up the newspapers again.

After coming back to her bedroom, Chelsea tossed herself onto the bed and said in a fury, “Mom, why
did you agree with dad’s proposal to find her back? Last time when I told you that I saw that bitch in the



mall, you shared the news with dad. Aren’t you creating troubles for yourself?”

Sofia locked the room and said composedly and slowly, “She will come back to our home no matter
whether you’ve told your father about that or not. Now that she has come back to the country, it was
impossible for her not to come back home all the time. We will be caught out of guard if she comes
back herself. So it’s better for us to take the initiative to tell your father about this. In this way, he will
think that we’re quite thoughtful and kind.”

“Will it be of use even if he thinks us thoughtful and kind? If she comes back, dad will reconsider about
the heir.”

Sofia furrowed her brows when hearing the words and her face became gloomy as she snorted, “It’s all
my fault. I didn’t give birth to a boy; otherwise, he won’t have to choose between you and that bitch.

The gloominess on Chelsea’s face gradually dissipated and she said arrogantly, “Of course. When she
was abroad all these years, who knew which man she had hooked up with and how promiscuous she

shameless.”

The weekend was over. On Monday, Hayden sent Stella to the kindergarten early in the morning as
she herself had to go to work.



She went to the headquarters to attend to a meeting. After the meeting was over, Hayden stopped
Joseph on the corridor, “Mr. Beckham, please wait a moment.”

Joseph and his assistant Magnus James turned around at the same time.

“What’s the matter?” asked Joseph.

“Will you go to the hospital at noon?”

Hayden heaved a sigh of relief and handed him an insulation barrel that she had been carrying with
her, “Inside is the soup that has been boiled for a whole night. This insulation barrel is specially made
to assure that the food inside will still be warm until noon. Please bring it to Noah.”

Joseph nodded and took the insulation barrel from Hayden.

Magnus, who was standing aside, widened his eyes in shock.

This was not the first time. Ms. Downey and Mr. Beckham’s relationship was really intriguing.

She showed much concern about little Noah’s hospitalization. And Mr. Beckham just let her be.

“By the way, please take this.” Hayden handed him a palm-sized notebook.

“The detailed methods and steps of making the soup are recorded here and you simply need to give it
to your chefs. I may not have time to cook for Noah recently as I don’t dare to retard the progress of the
project planning. Sorry.”

Joseph took the notebook and said, “It doesn’t matter.”



“Then I will come back to the hotel first.” Hayden nodded, smiled naturally and then headed towards
the elevator.

“Hayden Downey.”

Joseph stopped her. Hayden just heard his low voice sounding from behind.

She turned around in confusion, “Mr. Beckham, is there any other matters?”

“I will send someone to pick up you and Stella on Saturday morning. Noah hopes that you can visit our
home and play with him.”

“What?” Hayden was shocked and asked, “Your… your home?”

“Any problems?”

“Urm… Nothing… Nothing… But the project planning…”

“Bring the work to my home. You will have an overtime pay.” Beckham then asked in an indisputable
tone, “Any problems? I never compel others. Drop the matter if you’re reluctant.”

“No… No problem.” Hayden was rendered speechless.

He never compelled others? Bullshit! They were not equal in nature as they had a bet back then and
more importantly, she hadn’t signed the contract with the company. Therefore, whether she could stay
in the company or not was at the mercy of him. Since her boss had given the order, how dared she say
no?
