Chapter 279 You Spoiled Them Too Much

The moment when she ran out of the door, the light was on.

“Surprise!”

With a bang, ribbons were saltant in the air. The elevator was blocked with people dressed weirdly and
two little pumpkin guys stood in the middle of the crowd.

Hayden screamed first, and then she recognized the voice.

“Noah? Stella? “

One of the two pumpkin guys, who was shorter on the right, immediately took off the big pumpkin skirt.
Then the little one said with a naughty face.

“Mommy, it’s me!”

“Miss Downey, happy Halloween!”

Those dressed weirdly took off their masks and headgears. They were all the residents of the
department.

Halloween?

Hayden put her hand on the forehead, “Jesus, you are...”

Lisa, the hostess who lived in the opposite door, was now in a dress of a skeleton bride. She stepped
forward and laughed, “are you scared? We have a Halloween activity today. Everyone who come back
here when it is dark, he or she will be treated like that. You are not the first one to be scared by us.”



After a long while, Hayden came to herself, “I thought it was the serial killer, and you really scared
me...”

Looking at the smiling faces in the elevator that were not familiar but not strange, Hayden felt very
warm. The residents often had activities in this apartment, but she seldom took part in. However, she
still often received gifts from them.

stuck with rubber mud, then she torn the mud off and turned the light on.

As soon as the light was on, she saw Joseph sitting at the door of the children’s room. His beige
trousers were dyed red by the unknown liquid on the ground. With a blue bump on his head, he was
still muddled, looking at the door in a daze.

Someone suddenly burst into laughter, then everyone roared with laughter.

Hayden bet that today marked the most humiliating day to Joseph in the past over 30 years.

Joseph didn’t wear the prepared costume because he thought it was funny and ashamed to mock up.
But he never expected that he would make a show of himself in front of all the residents.



Hayden still couldn’t help laughing when she kneaded his head with an egg.

“Sorry, you were so funny just now, and I can’t resist laughing.”

Joseph was a little angry, but he enjoyed her tenderness now.

“But you didn’t take part in their activities. Why did you hold a chainsaw? You scared me to death.
Fortunately, I had a potato in my hand. What if I had a knife?”

Speaking of this, Joseph got a blue face.

“The saw and the ketchup on it, you should ask your two children about that.”

Stella and Noah were still outside and scared others with the residents. But Stella sneakily picked up
the plastic chainsaw covered with ketchup, so there was no doubt that Stella did that. It was estimated
that she wanted to scare others, but she had no tools and props. So she did it herself. However, the
little girl cannot think of the idea that the chainsaw was used to scare Hayden for testing scary effects.
It must be Noah’s idea. He asked Joseph to bring him the chainsaw just before Hayden came back.

The two uncontrollable children!

“You spoiled them too much!” Hayden rolled eyes and poked him by his bump grumpily.

He gave a slight cry, frowning to refute. But when he saw the sullen face of Hayden, he paused slightly.
He seemed to recall something and kept silent.

When he was a child, he liked to watch Addison’s parents quarreling. So he often went to Addison’s
house. He felt that the couple having a quarrel time to time was a warm thing. He enjoyed the
atmosphere of a noise but warm family. At this moment, he suddenly felt that Hayden’s attitude to him
was familiar.



After considering for a while, he took a tumble.

What he had longed for these years just was what he had experienced every day. That’s the daily
quarrels with his loved one what he longed for.

As his father said when he was a child; the world was actually very beautiful, but you hadn’t met the
one who enjoyed the beauty with you.

In the evening, the two children came back with all kinds of candies.

Hayden took two guys to have a shower. After the shower, they were so tired that they quickly fell
asleep before the bed story was half told.

When she returned to the bedroom, Joseph was sitting in the bed, reading. Seeing her back, he said,
“Drink the milk, otherwise, it will be cold.”

There was a cup of milk on the bedside table, which was one of the couple cups.

Hayden went to the bed and drank the milk obediently.

Joseph seemed to be watching her at any time. After she finished drinking, he closed the book, turned
off the reading light and said, “Sleep.”

Hayden lay down but something made her sleepless. She asked, “If your life will be always like this
now, would you be happy?”

“I don’t think it’s unhappy to lead such a life.”

The voice of Joseph came, his chin on her head. She can feel the vibration when he spoke.

“What if you met your friends? Wouldn’t you feel embarrassed?”



“I don’t feel embarrassed when they tease me. Instead, they are very embarrassed.”

Joseph said indifferently. From his voice, he really didn’t mind.

“So, would you like to attend the AW business party? Cleveland invited me and I am planning to be
present. But if you go with me, you will have to meet some ‘old friends’ …”

Joseph was silent.

Hayden was sort of regretful to mention this matter, and she knew he was very proud. After a long
while, Hayden felt the arms hugging her closer. There was a low voice beside her ears.

“If I don’t go, who are you going to go with?”

Hayden was stunned, and hesitated to say, “Dante is the designer of the company, and it is very good
for him to attend the party with me to win more popularity. However, he is busy recently. Freddie must
be with Cleveland. So Benjamin is the only one who can go with me.”

She kept saying, not to find that Joseph’s face had changed.
