Chapter 53: To Rob His Wedding? Dream on!

“Drive. Imperial Villa, please,” as soon as Viola got in the car, she said to the driver, completely ignoring
her agent who chased her from the studio.

It was the day to try on the wedding dress today. She believed that Joseph should know how important
this day meant to her. Although his wedding suit hadn’t been made yet, it also would be tailored after
the shop measured him. They had make an appointment with the designer, and Joseph had already
postponed his schedules. How could he suddenly break the appointment?

She suspected that it might be Noah, that annoying son of Joseph, who made trouble again
deliberately.

On the other side, Hayden arrived in the engagement banquet.

After showing her invitation to the guard, she walked into the banquet hall with the prepared gift in her
hands.

The entire floor of Nanking Restaurant was reserved for the engagement banquet, which had been
decorated magnificently with colorful ribbons and balloons all over the ceiling. Guests attended the
banquet were either wealthy or powerful.

Hayden looked around but didn’t see anyone she knew. She was not a fan of such kind of occasion
usually, so she walked to the corner to enjoy the food in silence.

In the dressing room on the second floor, a group of ladies in formal dresses were surrounding
Michelle, the bride-to-be. They were all her college classmates whom she hadn’t seen for a long time.
At this moment, Michelle was like a moon surrounded by a bunch of stars, her ears full of all kinds of
envious flattery.



“Michelle, I always think you are the prettiest in our dormitory room since we were in the college. You
and Kingsley are just a perfect match.”

“Please make me your bridesmaid when you get married. Perhaps I could find my Mr. Right among the
groomsmen.”

“You look gorgeous. I heard that Kingsley asked an Italian designer to make the dress in person for
you, right? It’s worth over two hundred thousand, isn’t it? May I touch it?”

Michelle chuckled lightly, stroking her dress. “It’s not bad. Two hundred thousand is nothing. The key
point is that this designer wouldn’t work for ordinary ones.”

Kingsley was ignored completely for a long time. Standing aside and hearing Michelle’s words, he
became more and more irritable. Hence, he directly left the dressing room. After lighting up a cigarette,
he walked in the corridor on the second floor while smoking. Staring at the vivid scene downstairs with
a bored face, he looked as if he were an outsider.

“Hey, groom-to-be, why aren’t you happy?”

His best friend Humbert Jerome put his arm around Kingsley’s shoulders. He asked jokingly, “You don’t
regret, do you?”

Flicking the soot, Kingsley looked worn out. “What if I said yes? Do you believe me?”

Humbert was taken aback.

“Are you kidding me? You’ve been seeing Michelle for six years. What the hell is on your mind now?”

Kingsley smiled bitterly. “Forget it. You don’t understand.”

Six years ago, when he was seeing Michelle secretly, he felt it was so novel, interesting, and exciting.



Compared with Hayden, Michelle was more active and she had all kinds of novel tricks for him to enjoy
sex. At that time, Hayden was busy with her medical experiments, so she seldom could accompany
him. Hence, he enjoyed himself so much that he even had forgotten that Hayden was his official
girlfriend.

Later Hayden went abroad suddenly and stopped being in touch with all of them. He guessed that she
might have seen him with Michelle that night, so she left with a broken heart. Thinking of that, he felt
guilty for a long time and also broke up with Michelle. However, Michelle kept being nice to him in every
possible way, so they were reconciled.

After Michelle officially became his girlfriend, he couldn’t feel the novelty anymore after a long time.
Moreover, he had to endure Michelle’s restraints and defenses on him everyday, so he couldn’t help
missing Hayden.

Humbert pat him on the shoulder, seemingly understood Kingsley’s feelings. “In fact all women are like
this. You’ll feel fresh when you are with them firstly. After a long time, they are the same. Don’t
overthink.”

Kingsley shrugged, couldn’t agree more.

“There are so many beautiful women in your ceremony banquet today, and all are with good family
background. I’m so annoyed by the blind dates arranged by my mother. I’d rather choose one pleasing
to the eye.”

The haze on Kingsley’s face faded, and he smiled.

“Well, who do you have a crush on? I can help you.”

“Well, that one. Isn’t she pretty?” Humbert pouted towards a corner on the first floor with a smug
expression.



“All through the hall, she’s the best in my opinion. Look at her perfect shape. The most important is her
charisma -- her maturity contains innocence. TSK. TSK. It would feel like being in heave when sleeping
with her.”

Following Humbert’s gaze, Kingsley took a casual glance at random. Then he couldn’t tear his gaze off
the woman at all.

She dressed in a silver-gray strapless dress, which had short front and long back to touch the ground,
revealing her slender ankles. Her wavy long hair casually draped over her shoulders. Holding a plate of
dessert, she leaned against the wall of the corner, enjoying eating.

In the glitz and noise, she seemed to have scattered a piece of peaceful land around her, which was
clean and pure, but inexplicably people wanted to get close.

“I’ve got to go. Since nobody is approaching her now, I should make the move.”

“Wait a minute.”

Kingsley returned to his senses, quickly grabbed Humbert to stop him. He said in a warning tone, “Hold
your horse.”

“What’s wrong?”

“You can hook up with any other woman in the banquet, but not her.”

Hayden finished eating three portions of dessert. The waiter standing beside couldn’t help but glance at
her from time to time.

After all, almost no one came to such a banquet for just eating.

When she was drinking water, a familiar voice came from behind.



“Hello, Hayden.”

She turned back, only to find that Kingsley dressed in a white suit. His hair was combed neatly.
Compared with his student-like appearance back then, he became much more mature and confident.
Right then, he was glinting at her with the excitement in his eyes.

“I can’t believe it’s really you. Why are you here?”

Hayden frowned and answered directly, “Of course I came here because I’ve received the invitation of
your engagement ceremony. Besides, your fiancee kept calling to invite me. If I refused her
continuously, others might think I have any grudge towards you guys. Or, what do you think I’m here
for?”

‘To rob your wedding? Dream on!’ her inner voice said with a disdain.

“I’m sorry.” Kingsley obviously hadn’t expected this to be the case. The excitement in his eyes faded a
little. He said more apologetically, “I didn’t know Michelle has done that. Sorry for bothering you.”

Seeing that he was fairly polite, Hayden felt less depressed.

“Nothing. I’m not bothered. After all, we were college classmates. I should come here to send my
wishes in your engagement ceremony. This is a gift for you guys.”

As she spoke, she handed him over the gift box that she had been carrying for a long time.

“It’s not costly, but it’s my blessing to you guys.”

“I know.” Kingsley hurriedly took it over, his gaze glued on Hayden’s face. He said blankly, “The
blessing of the gift is more important than its price. I know it.”



When he met her last time in a hurry, he didn’t have enough time to speak or look at her. Now he
looked closer -- she had become more beautiful and graceful than she was six years ago. She was like
a beautiful jade, which had been carved out her own dazzling pattern.

“Then, I wish you and Michelle happiness.”

Hayden put on a polite smile.

The only meaning for her to come to this engagement banquet was to bid her past farewell.

“Hayden, actually, I...”

Kingsley looked hesitated, as if he was extremely aggrieved.

“Actually I’ve been missing you all these years. I also asked around to find out where you were, but I
couldn’t get any information. How have you been all these years?”

“Pretty well.”

“Then, that’s good for you.”

Kingsley squeezed the bag of the gift box tightly. He couldn’t speak out some words at the proper time,
but now he could no longer speak them out.

“Kingsley!”

A sweet voice suddenly was heart. They both turned around and saw Michelle walking down from the
stairs while holding the hemline of her dress, stepping towards them.

“I was wondering whom Kingsley was talking to. It turned out to be you, Hayden.”
