Chapter 218: I Will Help My Families Even if They Are Wrong

“Hayden, are you alright?”

Freddie came here instantly after receiving the call. He even hadn’t removed his makeup yet. He was
wearing a blue tuxedo inlaid with sequins and looked fatigued, with Cleveland following him.

The police had already left, and Hayden opened the door to let the two in. She looked exhausted.

“I’m alright.”

Two cups of hot tea were bubbling on the coffee table.

Hayden only gave a brief account of what had happened. She only told them the unpleasant breakup
with Joseph, who had a fight with her and made her call the police.

“I’ll move over here.” Freddie wrinkled his eyebrows. “I just don’t believe that Joseph will still dare to
come back here. I will break his leg if he does so.”

“No need.”

Cleveland at the side spoke in a deep voice, “Joseph is not a stalker. Since he left, he won’t come
back. If he really wants to take revenge on someone, he won’t do it himself.”

“You say he won’t do it himself. Just look at my sister’s neck.”

There was a clear bruise on Hayden’s neck. It was caused by Joseph who held her neck when she was
struggling, perhaps it was not on purpose, or perhaps he lost control as he was angry, but this was the
most obvious wounds and evidence of his guilt.

If Cleveland didn’t stop him, Freddie would have rushed to the police station to beat Joseph up.

“Really no need. I call you over here because there’s something else I want to talk to you about.”



“What’s it?”

Hayden glanced at Cleveland.

From the moment he entered Hayden’s house, Cleveland had not treated himself as an outsider in the
slightest, and now he was also unaware of the situation. He sat on the sofa with a relaxed look on his
face.

“I will not let the cat out of the bag. Besides, Joseph and I are business rivals. I don’t think you need to
scare that I will tell him what you said. Maybe I can even help you.”

Cleveland was very thick-skinned.

Freddie directly rolled his eyes at him, “We are talking about our personal matter and it’s none of your
business. You go first, and I’ll stay here overnight.”

break with him and also want Noah’s custody back.”

Hayden did not have any claims about how the police would handle Joseph. The only purpose she was
calling the police was to chase Joseph out of her place. After the police came, she changed the
password of the main gate on the spot.



This was not the first time. Hayden could not accept Joseph treating her violently even it was because
he misunderstood her. No matter how angry Joseph was and how much he did not understand, he still
could not forcefully want to have sex with her without her approval.

This time, she would not forgive him again.

“True. you must make a clean break with him. But, custody…What do you mean?” Freddie was
stunned, thinking that Hayden said something crazy as she was too angry. She carefully said.

“Hayden, you can’t get the custody of other people’s son although you like Noah so much.”

“Noah is my son.”

Hayden’s face turned gloomy. She was clenching her fist and her hand was almost bleeding as she
was pinching her hand with her nails.

From the look on her face, it was clear that she wasn’t joking.

Not only Freddie but even someone like Cleveland, who had always been calm and self-possessed,
was taken aback.

After all, no one would have thought that there would be such a relationship between Noah, the son of
Joseph, and Hayden as no one could find out who the mother of Noah was at first.

When Freddie came out of Hayden’s house, Freddie looked gloomy.

After getting into the car, he looked at Cleveland who was sitting in the driver’s seat.

“Don’t tell anyone about this matter.”

Cleveland rested his long fingers on the steering wheel. The logo of the car which was made up of a
horse and a shield glittered between his two fingers, reflecting his calm and handsome face. “I’m not

Hearing his words, Freddie’s expression turned gloomier.

“Noah is the apple of Joseph’s eyes. How can he be willing to let go of Noah and give the custody of
Noah to Hayden? I’m afraid that Hayden won’t be able to protect the custody of Stella in the end when
Joseph uses all his power and connections.”

“I’m more curious about how Joseph slept with the woman lying in the bed six years ago without even
knowing who she was.”

“Shut the fuck up.”

Freddie rolled his eyes at Cleveland, “Didn’t you say that you wanted to help her? Now that you know
everything. What are you going to do?”

“I can help her.”

Cleveland glanced at Freddie, “You have to give me a reason why I should help her, right? Besides, I
will help my families even if they are wrong.”

Freddie frowned and kept silent for a moment, after thinking about what his words meant. His face
turned pale.

“Cleveland, do you want to die?”

Ever since he was pestered by Cleveland, Cleveland was like a plaster that he couldn’t shake off.
Cleveland was interfering in all his business and he really did help him settle a lot of things. However,
as a result, he often took advantage of him verbally. He said the words suddenly without thinking
properly.



“I’m not in the mood to joke with you right now. Take me home first.”

“Sit on the chair properly.”

After finishing his words, Cleveland stepped on the accelerator pedal. The roaring engine sound
attracted the attention of countless passers-by on the street. The streamlined body of the car was like a
rocket. With a whoosh sound, the car sped away and reached the ring highway.

The night in which they knew the secret was not peaceful. There were hazes of smoke in the city. It
was raining and the thunderstorm was washing the streets over and over again as if it was trying to
wash away all traces of the past and make everything started over again.

At dawn.

A sharp braking sound rang out at the entrance of the police station, and a young man in a white car
quickly got down in a suit. He was sweaty after running, and as soon as he entered the police station,
he hurriedly grabbed a female police officer and asked her.

“Where’s Joseph?”

The officer looked at him and impatiently pouted her mouth in the direction of the detention room. “He’s
there. He’s been waiting for his family to come all night. Why do you come so late?”

“I’m sorry. My phone ran out of battery last night and I turned it off.”

Magnus was sweating. He had always been dedicated to his work, but last night his mobile phone ran
out of battery and he switched it off. He got up in the middle of the night to go to the toilet and habitually
checked the time before realizing that he had received a call from the police station. He was very
nervous at that time.



His boss had been at the police station all night and had called him countless times but he didn’t
answer his calls. He thought that he might be fired and he was worried about that as he still needed to
save money to buy a house and marry his wife in Nanking.

The police briefly asked Magnus some questions about the relationship between him and Joseph
before giving him permission to go in and have a chat with Joseph.

“What does this mean? Can’t I take my boss away now?”

“Of course, do you think it’s so easy to let the person who had been charged for raping go?”

The female police officer was a bit annoyed.

“This case’s not that simple. We’ve already reported it to the superior department and we need to keep
the suspect here temporarily with all the evidence until tomorrow morning to see if the victim who
reported the case wants to present the evidence and sue the suspect.”

“How is that possible? Ms. Downey is Mr. Beckham’s girlfriend. They are getting married and they are
only quarrelling and not like what you are talking about…”

“Is that so?” The female police officer closed the notebook in her hand and looked at Magnus. “But the
suspect denied his couple relationship with the victim.”
