“Your name is Sophie, right?”

“yes.” The little girl nodded her head seriously.

"Thank you, Sophie, for pushing me over here."

Hayden smiled as she held the wheelchair, then she stood up in front of the little girl’s parent. They
were so shocked when they saw her standing up so suddenly. “Because you are kind and willing to
help, now I can stand up.”

The little girl's eyes widened in disbelief, "Wow, auntie, your leg."

“So as a thank you gift, I will give you the chocolate, okay?”

As Hayden said this, she handed the box of chocolates that she took to the little girl, and touched the
little girl’s head, “Thank you! In the future, when you see others in need of help, you should also be
brave like today, okay?”

The little girl took the chocolates and nodded solemnly. She kept staring at Hayden’s legs for quite
some time before she reluctantly left with her parents.

After the family left, Hayden sat back in her wheelchair.

“You're good at coaxing kids." The sound of a sarcastic laugh came from overhead.

Hayden rolled her eyes at him, “It’s all because you let me out in a wheelchair. She such a little girl, it’s
not good to discourage her from helping others.”

“You’re right.”



Joseph took a box of chocolates, “But this is a supermarket, you just take something and stuff it into
someone’s hand and say it’s a gift, is it appropriate?”

Hayden was pulled back to her senses and immediately tried to get up.

That was awkward. The look of the couple didn’t look particularly rich, and this brand of chocolate was
not cheap at all. A box with a few pieces of chocolate in it would cost a few hundred yuan.

Before she got up, a strong hand pressed on her shoulder and pressed her back into the wheelchair.

“It’s okay, I’ve informed the manager here. All the snacks that the little girl buys will be free of charge.”

Hayden let out a sigh of relief and couldn’t help but ask again, “When did you inform them?”

She immediately explained with a red face, “You don’t understand, we should talk to children like this.
No wonder you and Noah have a bad relationship. Have you understood now?”

“I don’t understand.” Joseph smiled indifferently, “I only need to know how to cook fried cod tonight and
that’s enough.”

The aunties in the supermarket was much more enthusiastic than the neighborhood aunts. They all
saw Hayden’s legs and gave her a lot of food to try.

The most embarrassing thing was that Hayden was going to have her period soon, she purposely
stayed at a distance away from the shelves selling sanitary pads to see Joseph make a fool of himself.
She let him go and buy all alone.



“Don’t buy the wrong one. If you don’t know what to buy, just ask the woman beside the shelves.”

“Okay.”

Joseph walked towards the shelves, pushing his little trolley. He looked calm.

After a while, Hayden saw that Joseph was shopping with a great amount of pads that were visible on
the shelf into the trolley, as if he was trying to buy everything.

Now he was relying on being rich, so he could do whatever he want. Hayden was not going to let him
get what he wants.

Hayden hurriedly call the woman in the pad area and said, “Look, that’s my boyfriend. I asked him to
help me get some sanitary pads, but he is not very good at choosing. Can you help? Tell him to take
two packs each for day and night. I have to trouble you because my legs are not that convenient for me
to go over.”

The woman agreed instantly, “Alright, I’ll go now. Don’t move, just rest here.”

“Okay, thank you.”

Hayden held the cup she brought out from home and took a sip of water contentedly and prepared to
watch the show.

Surely, as soon as the woman arrived there, Joseph stood still like a statue. The expression on his face
was very stiff too.

Hayden tried hard enduring the urge to spit out the water, she took out her phone and took a sneak
shot.



After the photo was taken, Hayden noticed that the two were talking happily. The woman pointed
toward her and then pointed towards the baby products area.

‘What are they doing? Why are they talking about babies now?’ Thought Hayden.

Five minutes later, Joseph returned with his trolley full.

Although the woman had helped him, he still bought a lot of things. The amount was sufficient to last
for half a year.

Hayden was a bit curious, she lifted her head up and asked, “What did you just say to her? It’s okay to
point at me, but why you pointed the baby products area? She asked you to buy milk powder?”

“No.” Joseph expressionlessly pushed both trolley and wheelchair, “She asked me to buy some
diapers.”

“Buy diapers for what?”

“For you.” The two simple words made Hayden so embarrassed, as if her dignity and ego was tramped
on the ground.

Hayden froze for a few seconds. The expressions of shame and embarrassment were fully filled on her
face .

It was all because of this wheelchair! She swore that she would never come out with it ever again!

This situation made her felt like she went for wool and came home shorn.

As soon as the ‘diaper incident’ broke out, Hayden resolutely refused to continue shopping in a
wheelchair. Since they were almost done with the groceries, the two went straight back home.



On the way back. Hayden forcibly took off Joseph’s coat and covered her head. She said that it was to
shelter her from others. She made him felt that she was making an unnecessary move.

Luckily, it was almost dinner time. Not many people were still walking around the neighborhood. Every
household was smelling with cooking fumes.

The open kitchen of the apartment was filled with the sound of fish being cleaned and fried in the oil.

“Fry until both sides are golden brown. The, you can add water and put some ginger, tofu and stew.”

Hayden stretched her neck from outside the kitchen and instructed him loudly.

In fact, the sound of the kitchen ventilator was too loud, she herself couldn’t be sure that how many
words did Joseph actually hear and whether he was following the recipe or following her instructions.
Anyway, the steps were almost the same.

She was just too idle while she was recovering from her injuries.

The phone rang and she looked down to see the caller ID. It was a call from the United States. She
hesitated for a moment and then jumped on one leg to the bedroom to pick up the call.

“Hello? Edison.”

Joseph finished cooking and noticed that Hayden had disappeared. He vaguely saw a figure walking
back and forth in the bedroom and he frowned immediately.

It was not good for the recover of the wound if she was walking in this way.

As soon as he walked to the bedroom door to remind her, he heard Hayden voice from inside.



“When are you coming?”

“...”

“Not this week. I was a bit injured. I’m afraid that neither I can pick you up, nor welcome you.”

“Alright, next week then.”

“Okay, I won’t tell Stella so that you can give her surprise, okay?”

From the half-open door, he could clearly see the natural and gentle smile on her face, it was like

relationship.

heard Joseph in the living room, calling her to eat. She hurriedly responded, “I’m coming.”

“Went to pick up a call?” Joseph asked unintentionally.

“With whom?”

“Oh, a friend.” Hayden answered casually. Her chopsticks poked one of the chicken wings and she
smiled, “It looks pretty good.”

“What friend?” Joseph sounded a little down.
