Chapter 284 Don’t You Explain?

Joseph just came out of the rest room and felt a cold wind blew from the balcony. He sneezed twice
and instantly felt a little cold behind his neck.

Then he answered the phone from Mark the housekeeper. Mark talked about it for a long time to ask
him to come back the Beckhams' Mansion and make up with Harrison.

It was the same speech all the time. Mark was more and more garrulous now. Joseph respect him as
an old housekeeper of their family for so many years. He undertook what he said but he had never
been back to the house.

“Mr. Beckham.”

When Joseph was about to leave, he saw a figure standing in front of him. She was wearing a knee
length gauze skirt with her hair coiled up and a silver crown hairpin pinned to her chestnut brown hair.

From the point of Joseph's taste, he usually thought this kind of look was not eye-catching and won't
pay attention to it. However, he remembered Hayden had the same hairpin, which attracted him. The
clothes that Hayden matched were more elegant than the girl's in front of him.

“Yes?” He asked the girl.

"Mr. Beckham, you don't remember me, do you?" The girl in the tender yellow dress looked at Joseph
and asked. Seeing his vacant face, she tried to curb her temper.

“Do we meet before?”

“I’m Belinda Mason, the cousin of Chelsea.”

Joseph stared her up calmly and felt her a little familiar.



That was not a good memory. He remembered that on the day when he first took office in Downey
Group, he happened to catch sight of Belinda was creating difficulties for Hayden.

He knitted his brows and asked, “What’s matter?”

Belinda felt angry for his being indifferent and her face turned red. However, she could not lose her
temper in front of him. "I think you should be very interested in the matter about Hayden, Mr.
Beckham."

Joseph darted a glance at her gravely.

He said, “I don’t think it’s necessary to hear her story from the others.”

"What about the thing that she had sex with another man?" Belinda stopped him in an urgent voice.
"Do you think she would tell you such a thing herself? Mr. Beckham, you are not so naive, are you?"

Joseph stopped his steps, and looked back at her coldly.

“What?”

"Michelle told me that on the night of Hayden's 18th birthday, she had sex with several men. She is a
whore! You still regard her as a treasure. Aren't you afraid that others will take you as a fool?"

Joseph's face went gloomier after hearing this. Before Belinda could react, he grabbed her arm and
dragged her into the next lounge.

“What are you doing? Stop!”

Belinda struggled in horror but stepped on the ribbon on her dress by accident and stumbled on the
sofa.



Joseph leaned down with his hands on both sides of the single sofa which Belinda was on. And his
face was clouded.

The smell of Cologne on him was refreshing, which made Belinda blushed and her heart beat fast. She
said trembly, "Please... Don't mess with me."

Joseph sneered, with a little contempt in his eyes, "Believe it or not, if I hear what you have said just
now again, I will make you a whore."

Belinda instantaneously felt that her heart stopped beating. All her beautiful thoughts about the sex with
Joseph were completely destroyed. The extremely cold penetrated her limbs. For the first time, she
experienced the evil of Joseph.

However, she was a spoiled young lady. Although she was afraid of his threat, she still retorted with her
self-esteem, "What I said is true. If you don't believe me, you can inquire about it..."

"Just came out of the rest room. Came here and had a rest."

“What about Belinda?”

Hayden turned back and pointed to the direction which Belinda had run to. She looked confused and
asked, "Did you have a rest in the lounge with her?"

Joseph said, looking calm, "The lounge is a common area. Anyone can be in it. Don't get me wrong."

After hearing his answer, Hayden bowed her head and took a deep breath, "Okay, I won't get you
wrong, but according to what I have known about you, you won't stay alone with her in the lounge.
Since it happened, there must be a reason. I think I have the right to know what both of you have said
just now in there."

There was little gossip about Joseph for so many years, mainly because he hardly stayed alone with
other women. This was his habit to avoid the tattle and prate from others.

Hayden didn't think Belinda was able to make Joseph change the habits he had developed over the
decades.

It was just a very simple and unimportant thing. Hayden guessed, maybe just as she came, they
happened to enter the lounge in different time, and now they came out together. With this suppose in
mind, she wanted to Joseph to make thing clear and not let her get them wrong.



“There is nothing to say. Nothing happened. Don’t think too much.” Joseph said with not much
expression.

“Belinda ran hastily out of the room where you are. And you are telling me nothing happened there?”

Hayden had a great disappointment in her heart, "Have you ever thought that I'm not the only one who
saw her ran out of the room like that. Don't you explain? What about the others? What other people will
say about this?"

“I never mind their opinions.”

“Joseph!”

Hayden stopped his talking, and suddenly felt near the point of breakdown. Michelle's slander to her in
public just now still left her with a lingering fear. However, no sooner did her get out of one trouble and
then came another.

"Can you have more understanding of me? If I have just one look at other man, you can't bear it. A
beautiful girl in ragged clothes ran out of the room where you are. Don't you think you need to explain
to me?"

Joseph was in silence hearing what she said.

It was not that he didn't want to explain. He just didn't want to let Hayden hear what Belinda had just
said in this way.

“Still have nothing to say? Fine!”

Hayden clenched her hands carrying the dress and said coldly, “So do I.”
