Chapter 149: Desire Is Endless

“After Noah had the accident, Joseph kept Noah near him. An investigation was done but there was no
clue. It was just that the nanny played hooky from work to go out at that time and it was not the first
time she played hooky from work. Noah had been obedient so nothing really happened. However, the
day before Noah encountered the accident, he suffered a cold fever and he felt really uncomfortable
and that was why he would have the accident.”

Kevin could remember clearly the matter that year because after knowing Joseph for long, it was the
first time he saw Joseph become so angry. After all, Noah was his biological son. Although he said he

settle down and have a family, he was more anxious than anyone else if Noah really encountered an
accident.

“What happened to the nanny afterward?” Benjamin asked.

“Of course, she was sacked to go back to her hometown. After Joseph kept Noah near him, all the
maids were picked by him. If it was possible for him to bring Noah along when he went on a business
trip, he would just do so. Even if he did not bring Noah along, Viola would also go to take care of Noah
at that time. After all, she wasn’t the only woman who wanted to become Noah’s stepmother but she
was the only one who was able to approach Noah. So, she definitely dared not neglect him.”

“Not necessarily.”

Benjamin’s face was indifferent, “If Viola is only able to approach Noah after Noah encounters the

so only. But if everything is based on what she can do by making use of Noah, it makes sense.”

What could be done by making use of a child?

Hayden quickly thought of cases of childhood intimidation that led to mental illness.

After some children suffered severe psychological trauma when they were young, it might leave a
shadow in their life so they would refuse to communicate with others from then on…

“How can it be?” Kevin was stunned, “You guys are too focusing on conspiracy theory. Even if Viola
has a hundred guts, she won’t dare to play tricks in front of Joseph. You guys have to know that she
was still an unpopular actress who had no backup at all two years ago. She was quite satisfied with her
position at that time and this was the reason Joseph let her become his fake girlfriend to cheat
Harrison.”

“Desire is endless. She manages to have a great accomplishment like now in two years. Joseph has
given her quite a lot of assistance, right?”

Benjamin suddenly changed the subject, “Let’s eat, it’s cooked.”

After the meal, Kevin and Joseph were cleaning up the dishes in the kitchen. He asked bluntly.

“Why do you know so much?”

“Is it hard to know?” Benjamin glanced at him, “Search the Internet and you’ll know. It’s already 21st

“What is your purpose for deliberately searching these things?” Kevin became even more alert.

“I want to find my memory.”

Kevin thought that his warning could more or less let Benjamin restrain himself but before leaving,
Benjamin told everything he said afterward to Hayden, word for word.

After closing the door, Hayden did not even know how she came back to her room. She only felt that

So, what Kevin’s words meant was that Joseph actually knew what happened that year?

But, why did he keep acting as if he did not know and kept saying that Noah could not talk because he
had a high fever due to the reason that the nanny did not take good care of him?

To have financial interests, could a person really use his or her child as a bait and bargaining chip?

Benjamin’s words kept lingering in her ears.

“Shortly after Noah had an accident two years ago, Joseph’s cousin handed over the position of chief
financial officer of the ST Group. Even the shares owned by him were all taken back by Harrison using
a legal way and he was struck-off from the board of directors. The only rival in the Beckham family who
was eligible to compete with Joseph just left like this. This enabled Joseph to safely remain in his
position as the CEO of the ST Group.”

Up to the current generation of the Beckham family, Joseph was indeed the only son but there were
many cousins of the side branches. In the past, many of these people were either on the list of board of
directors of the ST Group or holding important positions in various departments.

Back then, Harrison did say that if Joseph did not get married, he would not give him the right to inherit.

the slow-rocking music. A slender woman walked past the public area and went directly to the box on

that the matters before in which you harmed me and the life you killed never happened.”

“What do you want me to help you with?”



“Joseph’s son is really an eyesore to me. You help me to get rid of him.”

Viola’s face changed, “You want me to kill someone?”

“What’s the problem, you’ve done it before anyway.” Lachlan coldly glanced at her.

Viola shivered violently.

“Aren’t you always thinking to be the young female owner of the Beckham family? Get rid of that little
kid who is in the way then you’ll have a chance. It’s just nice that I’m holding a grudge against Joseph
too, just as simple as that.”
