Chapter 232: Why Can’t I Suspect You

Joseph Beckham’s questioning had let Harrison Beckham fall into silence, holding his brush.

Joseph’s sonorous voice sounded in the study, “Three years ago if you hadn’t been overly trusting
Franklin, he wouldn’t have had a bad idea and did something to hurt Noah. Back then you said just let
this go by unsettled for the sake of relatives, as what happened had happened. I listened to you, but I
didn’t expect that you would use him again for he is such a person.”

Joseph’s tone was full of disappointment to Harrison.

“What happened three years ago might not have been done by Franklin. And there was no tangible
evidence too.”

Harrison wrinkled his eyebrows in rage.

“What do you mean not having tangible evidence? Grandpa, I’ve shown you all the evidence, and you
were the one who told me not to investigate further. As for the truth, you should have probably known it
back then. Otherwise, why would you say this?”

Joseph was gloomy, “Are you getting muddler as you are old?”

The brush in Harrison’s hand broke with a snap and fell on the rice paper.



A big stain was left on the rice paper. A deep and resonant voice, with a sense of anger, sounded in the

anything that can’t be exploited?”

Harrison was very gloomy.

Joseph clenched his fist, and after a moment of silent confrontation, a cold voice sounded in the room,
“Starting tomorrow, the ST Group is passed to Franklin without the need of your dismissal. I quit.”

As he just said, a clear sound of opening and closing the door came from the study. Joseph’s figure
could no longer be seen before others reacted yet.

The housekeeper chased after Joseph at the door to put in some good words, but Joseph was wholly
indifferent and just left.

“Young master.”

“Mark, come back.”



Mark wanted to chase after Joseph, but he was stopped in his tracks by a reproaching voice inside the
study. Mark could just only watch Joseph left, sighing as he entered the study.

“Sir, why do you have to make such a scene with the young master? He’s an adult now.”

Harrison was wiping his hands. The calligraphy paper on the table had fallen to the ground, and the
brush that was broken into two pieces indicated Harrison’s anger at that moment.

“Is he an adult? He is not even a normal person with emotions and desires.”

Harrison frowned in anger, “I don’t know why he would be like this. There’s nothing in his eyes besides
benefits.”

“Not so much, the young master is still very respectful to you, and he also cared for Noah so much.
Isn’t the young master developing quite well with Ms. Downy now? Isn’t this what you expect?”

happened to the Downey family. Hayden’s father, Brook Downey died of illness. And Joseph went
straight to the airport.”

“It’s just… human nature, right?” Mark explained, “After all, the young master and Ms. Downey are in a
relationship.”

airport for two days, just for the first flight to get back.”

Harrison was exasperated as he thought about it, and he slapped the table, “It’s nonsense.”

On the other side, Joseph went to the courtyard where Noah was staying. He let the maid pack a few of
Noah’s personal things and wanted to take him away.



Noah was having fun with Eleanor Beckham, and when he heard that Joseph wanted to take him
home, he took out his small board, writing down a line, “Where are mommy and Stella? Are they going
back together?”

Seeing this, Joseph was sullen, “No mommy nor Stella. Just you and me, just like old times.”

“No.” Noah blurted out.

His childish and hoarse voice echoed in the courtyard.

Joseph froze for a moment. After all, Noah seldom opened his mouth. Joseph eased up and persuaded
patiently, “Go back with daddy. You have lived here for too long.”

Noah shook his head and wrote down a line instantly, “Stella told me to wait here for her. She will be
back soon to accompany me.”

Seeing that Noah had made up his mind, Joseph was in a black mood, and he picked Noah up from
the ground, striding towards the exit of the courtyard.
