Joseph’s voice was calm and emotionless, which amazed Hayden.

Hayden said then, “Joseph, I know what you mean, but she is your mother, and Benjamin is also our
friend...”

“No, please don’t speak more.” Before Hayden finished speaking, Joseph interrupted her.

His voice was still indifferent, as if he really didn’t care about this matter.

“I won’t help them. She is not one of Beckham twenty years ago when she left the family. I’m not gonna

“I regard Benjamin as my brother. You should help him.”

Hayden sat on the first floor and was worried.

In the early evening, the sound of the engine appeared out of the inn. The car from Nanking stopped
there.

Magnus got there.

“Ms. Downey, Mr. Beckham asked me to find you back. It’s dangerous for you to drive alone at night.”

However, no matter how much effort Magnus made to persuade Hayden, Hayden just sat there and
didn’t speak.

“Ms. Downey, it’s my task. I can’t go back alone if you don’t go with me.”

Hayden glanced at Magnus and said with anger, “So don’t go back. There are rooms in this inn, but you
should pay for it. Credit is not allowed tonight.”

Magnus was helpless, “Mr. Beckham’s decision is also for your own good. Please go back with me. He

Beckham like this.”

Magnus didn’t dare to say anything. He just lowered his head and heard Hayden scold him.

The boss said Ms. Downey would go back with him as long as he did as he said. Boss’s plan looked
useless. It seemed that Mr. Downey wouldn’t go back after hearing that.

However, just when he was secretly murmuring, he heard Hayden say, “I’m gonna go back to ask him.”

Magnus instantly raise his head and was stunned.

The boss was really scheming. His plan worked!

“The car is there at the gate. I’ll drive it. Do you have any luggage? Let me take it.”

As Hayden said this, she suddenly found a shadow on the second floor. When she turned around and
checked it, she found there was nothing.

Hayden became nervous, because Rebekah must have heard her conversation with Magnus.

In Rebekah’s room, Rebekah was sitting by the desk, and staring at the album on the desk.



Maybe she had got into trouble just because she had been reminded of the past. Maybe she shouldn’t
have taken those photos out.

The knock sounded outside. It was clear in the silent room.

“It’s me.”

“Come in.” Rebekah hurriedly wiped her tears away.

Hayden opened the door and came in with a soft pace, as if she was afraid of scaring Rebekah.

She asked gingerly, “Are you crying?”

“No.” Rebekah showed a strained smile, “Do my eyes look swollen? Maybe it’s because I cried too
many times these days.”

“You heard all of those, right?”

Hayden asked with hesitation. She knew the answer as she saw Rebekah’s face turning pale.

Hayden explained, “Don’t misunderstand. Joseph said that because he wants to provoke me and
forces me to go back. It’s not his real thought.”

“I know.” Rebekah said calmly, “I know he hated me. His father’s death was also because of me. I’m
guilty. Benjamin is my son, so it’s my business to take him back. I’m not willing to ask Joseph for help
even if he wants to help.”

Hayden frowned, and then asked, “Who did Benjamin offend? Why can’t we call the police?”

Talking about this, Rebekah was silent. It seemed she was reluctant to explain that.



“If we can’t get so much money, we have to call the police.” Hayden frowned and continued, “Besides,
Benjamin is an elite student at the University of Public Security, so the police will pay great attention to
