Chapter 134: Life Experience Proved Me Right

Hayden Downey pulled a long face and put her ear to the door, listening to Joseph Beckham’s voice
coming from outside, “Need not. I still have things to deal with. I’ll just put the gifts here. Let your
mommy have a good rest.”

“Fine then.” Stella Downey said.

Joseph was speechless.

“See you later, Joseph.”

Joseph was in a hurry and left after delivering those luxury goods to her. What was the point of this?

“He’s apologizing!” Alayna Cole was sitting on the floor, holding the latest model of Chanel handbag.
And she also explained to Hayden, “Don’t you get it? He had reflected on himself, and he felt guilty. So
he decided to buy these to make up for you. It’s the latest model, where did he buy it! It’s a limited
edition!”

Hayden swept a glance over the gifts piling up all the place. She didn’t feel happy after hearing
Alayna’s words, but instead, feeling even more oppressed.

“So you mean that he has something to do with Viola Kidman?”

“If not, why is he doing this?” Alayna leaned on the sofa and analysed thoughtfully.

“It isn’t any special day today. Would it be his personal hobby for sending such presents? And why did
he say nothing and leave? Trying to look cool? In fact, he is just giving you a buffer period as you open
the gifts, feeling happy and forget about your anger.”

“Is it?” Hayden was confused.



“Take my word for it.”

This was the second time she heard this since last night.

“Then I’ll return all these to him.”

“Huh?” Alayna was shocked, “You’re just kidding, right? This is a limited edition.”

“I must have to return it then.”

“Leave this.”

“Not a single one.” If Joseph would just give her these gifts to cover up his mistake, Hayden would
never tolerate this.

Alayna was speechless.

At night, the two men were sitting opposite each other, drinking at the same tavern.

“She returned all the gifts? She’s really mad this time then.” Kevin Jackman stroked his chin
thoughtfully and felt puzzled, “Most women can’t resist such temptation.”

“I’ve said. She’s different from other women.”

Joseph gave Kevin a glare of displeasure.

He thought it was okay until Kevin came up with this awful idea.

“You’re right!” It dawned on Kevin that “Hayden is definitely not an ordinary woman. She’s a strong
woman in the workplace. Such kind of trick can’t fool her.”

Joseph was speechless.



“For Hayden, what doesn’t kill her, makes her stronger. There’s motivation in competition.”

“What do you mean?” Joseph frowned at Kevin.

“To put it bluntly, she’s a bit masochistic.” Kevin said in confidence, “Women can do anything out of
their jealousy. You’re giving her an out, but she’s ungrateful. Then you shall treat her the opposite way.

Joseph was speechless.

The three-day holiday had passed very soon.

“Hasn’t he contacted you yet?” Alayna snuggled up on the sofa while playing on her phone, “It doesn’t
make sense.”

“You’re such a backseat driver.”

Hayden brought out the fruit salad and placed it on the table. She sat cross-legged on the floor, sighing,
“I think it’s good. It’s not as complicated as what you said. In fact, it’s simple. I’ll just ask him about that
day when I meet him.”

“Is that so?” Alayna was bewildered, “According to my life experience, men are... Ah!”

The news headline, Viola Kidman and a mysterious man were very close, showing up at the airport,
together with a five-year-old child, suspected to be born out of wedlock.

“Isn’t this Joseph and Noah?” Alayna put it baldly, “I can recognise them even with being pixelated.
They’re probably not only just visiting the doctor in Germany. More like bringing his child and lover for a
vacation abroad.”

Hayden tried to stop overthinking it, “No, this wouldn’t be. Maybe it’s just like what I guessed previously.
Noah was able to book an appointment with the doctor with Viola’s help. I heard Joseph’s assistant
mentioned about it once.”

“Seeing a doctor?” Alayna flipped through her phone and opened Viola’s profile page, “Would you still
say that they went Germany just to see a doctor after watching this?”

Viola was lying by the swimming pool of the hotel, with a caption of “Appreciating for having you on
such a special day. Happy birthday.”

A week ago was Viola’s birthday, and many blessed her on the internet. However, her positioning was
at a resort hotel in Germany. And it had triggered a heated debate on Weibo.

“Such a scum.” Alayna gritted her teeth, closing her phone, “Don’t be sad, Hayden. I’ll recruit some
internet water army to rebuke this cheating couple.”

Hayden was in confusion, and she seemed to have buzzing in her ears. She never thought that she
would care for Joseph so much.

She always thought that Noah was the main reason for her to approach Joseph. But now that she had
seen him having an uneasy relationship with another girl, Hayden felt heartbroken. The pain was no
less than the time she caught Edison Godfery cheating on her.

Hayden stopped listening to Alayna consoling her and locked herself in her room.

Stella leaned on the car window, “Alayna, you’re heading the wrong way.”

“I’m definitely not going to that cheating man. It’s a waste of time talking to him.”

“Then where are we heading to?”

“To his bastard friend.”

Fifteen minutes later, in the living room of a villa in the western district, the maid left after making tea.

“Tell me about it. What’s going on?”



Alayna opened the news and placed it on the coffee table. She said in displeasure, “If he didn’t want to
get along with Hayden, just tell her. It’s too nasty for him to cheat on Hayden.”

“Cheating?”

Kevin was staggered. He was stunned for a moment after seeing the news, and he laughed out
suddenly, “Joseph is acting fast enough!”
