Chapter 74: Time Is Limited

Hayden slapped him so hard that a red slapping mark could be seen on Joseph’s face.

It was his first time seeing Hayden acted this way, so he couldn’t help but be annoyed for his action
earlier.

“I’m sorry.”

Hayden startled when she heard his words. She didn’t expect that Joseph would apologize so easily.
After all, no one had ever disobeyed a noble young master and president like him. It wasn’t strange
even if he did such a thing at will.

Hayden grasped her sore hand and felt a little uneasy, “It’s fine, forget it this time. I probably should
move out with Stella.”

“Wait.”

Joseph called her, “You don’t have to move. I’m leaving this afternoon for a long-term business trip, my
flight is at 3 o’clock. I won’t be staying here for the time being. When I’m not around, please take care
of Noah for me.”

Hayden stopped her step. She hesitated for a moment and nodded.

There was really no place to go if she suddenly moved out at this time. She couldn’t bring Stella along
to find a place to stay, since a child couldn’t bear to follow an adult in finding an accommodation.

Joseph changed his clothes and went downstairs. He didn’t continue eating his breakfast and gave
Noah a few words. He told him to listen to Hayden and the housekeeper before leaving for his business
trip.



The sound of the engine in the yard gradually disappeared. Hayden held her hands and her heart was
still beating like a drum.

She couldn’t deny that she had an inexplicable fondness for Joseph, but he was getting married soon.
She would never destroy other people’s marriage. After what happened with Kingsley and Michelle,
she hated the people who got themselves involved in other people’s relationships. How could she do
such a thing then?

Joseph really didn’t come back that night. She heard from the housekeeper that Joseph went to
Shanghai for a business trip. This time, he was waiting for a big client from New York. If things went on
successfully, he could be back in half a month. If not, he couldn’t even come back in a month’s time.

“Should I even stay here anymore?”

Late night, Hayden leaned on the pillow and spoke to herself as she pinched the nose of a husky doll.

“Tell me, what I should do?”

She shook the head of that husky doll in her hand. She pouted her lips and thought, "You don't know
too?"

Hayden let out a deep sigh in the dim room.

The next morning, Hayden went to work in the company after sending the kids to the kindergarten.

Not long after she arrived at the hotel in the morning, the manager of the housekeeping department
found her, "Ms. Downey, please have a look at room 1023. Something had happened there and the
guest is still making a fuss."

“What's the matter?”



Hayden frowned. She directly went out and asked more details about what happened along the way.

”A female guest who checked in room 1023 complained that there were cockroaches in her room. After
we went in, we did clean up two cockroaches. I wasn’t sure if the previous room attendant was too rude
to her. Anyway, they were having a fight now.”

As they were talking, they reached the door of room 1023 and there was a crowd of people watching
outside.

Hayden shouted, "Do you all not have anything to do right now?"

The manager of the housekeeping department who stood next to her waved at them hurriedly, "All
right, go do your own duties. What are you guys doing here?"

The crowd of people scattered abruptly, and a loud shout sounded in the room.

“Wait! Aren't you bullying your guests just because this is a grand hotel? Why are you leaving now?
Continue to reason with me!”

“Ms. Harriet, please calm down.”

The housekeeping manager hurried in to greet the guest, but she ignored him, "Where's the general
manager of the hotel? I wanted to talk to her, you bunch of snob!”

Hayden went in with the housekeeping manager, and she saw a woman who seemed like she had
undergone many facial plastic surgeries at first glance.

She had a pointed chin, big European eyelids, and her face was painted with a peach blossom makeup
that was popular recently. There were star sequins on the corners of her eyes too. She wore a ginger-
colored camisole and sat on a marble table, shaking her fair legs while looking arrogantly.



Hayden had been working in this industry for several years. She had seen all kinds of people during
these years. At that moment, she was still very calm and asked,”

“The general manager has went on a business trip. He’s not here at the moment. You’re Ms. Harriet,
right? If you're unsatisfied with our service, you can tell me. Perhaps I can solve it for you. If it can’t be
solved, then we’ll look for the manager, alright?”

“Who are you? Does your words count?” The woman took a glance at Hayden and suddenly saw the
ID card on her chest. The woman slightly narrowed her eyes, "Hayden Downey, lobby manager?"

“Yes, it's me.” Hayden followed her gaze and realized she was looking at her ID card. She nodded
politely and reached out her hand, "All managers of our hotel take turns to manage a specific

“You don't have to tell me that. I'm not interested in how your hotel operates.”

She crossed her other leg impatiently, “This is a five-star hotel, also known to offer the best hotel
service in the country, and you can't even meet the hygiene standards? Isn’t this a scam to the
guests?”

"Ms. Harriet, our hotel's hygiene standards are absolutely up to standard. If you don't believe me, I’ll let
my people to turn over the whole bed for you to see. I'm absolutely sure that there won’t be any dust at
the bottom of the bed. There’s no second hotel that could compare with our hotel environment in the
country.”

Hayden’s words were certain, but the woman had a look of disdain on her face, "Who would want to
look at the bottom of your bed? It’s not like I would be sleeping under the bed. This cockroaches
matter, don't ever think that you’ll get away with it easily. You'd better give me a reasonable
explanation."



"To be honest, Ms. Harriet," Sheng frowned, "It is very unlikely for cockroaches to breed in our hotel
environment. If there really is, the only possibility is that it may have been from the garbage bin outside
or it happens to get in from somewhere. However, these are still the mistakes of our hotel. How about
this, we will change a new room for you, and your stay during this period would be absolutely free.
What do you think?”

“Do you think that I would mind such a little money?” She jumped off the table and glanced at Hayden,

“You said it as if I had wronged you. Could it be possible that the cockroaches come from me? What's
more, you're not sincere about apologizing at all, so there's nothing that we can talk about. I'll call the
Commerce and Industry Bureau and the Health Bureau directly. They can come to seal your hotel first,
and they’ll be able to check what has happened in two days.”

This woman looked like an eye candy, but her words were sharp and rude. It seemed like this couldn’t
be resolved easily. Whenever Hayden said something, she would begin to defend her words.

The manager of the housekeeping department immediately panicked, "Don’t, Ms. Harriet. We can
settle this issue personally."

ST Group was certainly not afraid of the investigation by the Industry and Commerce Bureau and the
Health Bureau. However, if people of the Industry and Commerce Bureau and the Health Bureau make

Joseph was still ongoing. Although the centennial celebration had been delayed for a month, the
