Chapter 246: I’ll Back You up When You Need Me

“You found these two people?”

Benjamin nodded for a moment, “They are in Guangzhou. They opened a restaurant called Sabresa
Fast Food Restaurant, and they are making a good living.”

Teresa and Sabrina were both from remote areas in the mountain. They were cousins and they had no
intention of going back since they came out of that remote village in the mountain.

According to the information given by Benjamin, they had only worked for the Beckham family for two
years, and they were given training by the Beckham family during one of the two years, not to mention
the assessment period before they were hired.

The nannies who had passed through several tests before they were hired would naturally have a high
salary. By rights, they shouldn’t do anything to harm their master’s family for petty profits.

to drugs and owed loan sharks. But three years ago, the debt collectors suddenly all stopped collecting
money from him and this man went into rehab.”



Hayden frowned, staring at the man in the photo in bewilderment.

She could vaguely guess what kind of relationship between the man and Sabrina in terms of money.

“I found this man in Shaoyang County. He just got out of rehab six months ago. He had overcome his
drug addiction and he admitted that the person who was trying to harm Noah found him and promised
to help him pay off his debts. The person also promised him that he would give him a huge amount of
money if he could ask Sabrina to put drugs inside the milk powder of her master’s son.”

Benjamin said straightforwardly. His words were not said after his simply guessing, but were all well-
founded facts.

“So, did Sabrina do it?”

“I’m also not very sure.” Benjamin shook his head again, “That’s why I think this person is smart.
Sabrina’s ex-husband told me that at first Sabrina’s didn’t agree to his request and she said she
wanted to divorce him. The two of them even fought and went to the district police station in Nanking
because of this. This was recorded and I have checked it. It’s true.”

Hayden vaguely realized something, “You’ve just mentioned that the two women who opened the shop
in Guangzhou are cousins. There is another woman named Teresa. Is this incident related to her?”

Benjamin nodded, “Yes, it’s related to her.”

The matter was very simple. After Sabrina had a quarrel with her ex-husband, her ex-husband stalked
her and refused to divorce her. The debt collector who failed to collect the debts from her ex-husband
naturally found her, and Teresa, as a cousin, could not put up with it any longer. She put the drugs
inside Noah’s milk powder secretly, without telling Sabrina and her ex-husband.



“At first, Sabrina did not know about it. Only later when something happened to Noah, then she only
knew the truth after asking Teresa several times. But the things already happened and there was
somebody to cover it up, so they were fired directly by the Beckham family. They left Nanking and went
to Guangzhou.”

As there was no money involved in this matter, even the Beckham family couldn’t even find out
anything at the time. Who would believe that they would do something like that without asking for
money when it may harm them when they were caught doing so?

“Then how did you find out the truth?” Hayden was puzzled.

There was no evidence proving that Teresa was the one who did the matter. Even if Benjamin had
found the two of them, they should have kept denying they did it.

Benjamin looked like he had a complicated mood, “Teresa has cancer and doesn’t have much time to
live. She confessed everything to me.”

No one knew that if there was really such a thing called karma. After Teresa put drugs inside Noah’s
milk powder back then, she was always uptight and always worried that the Beckham family would find
them. So, she became sick with worry over the years and was found to have stomach cancer half a
year ago, which was already at the end stage.

Hayden also looked like she was having mixed feelings. From the perspective of Noah’s mother, she
should have said that Teresa got what she deserved. But this woman did not do it for money back then,
she just did it to get her cousin out of trouble, so she was considered a righteous person.

“Then who was the person who asked her to harm Noah back then? You should have found out too,
right?”

Speaking of this, Benjamin slowly exhaled a foul breath.



“Teresa said that the one who asked her to do such thing back then was the young master of the
Beckham family.

Hayden’s heart throbbed for a moment and she clenched her fingers.

“There are several young masters in the Beckham family.”

“She was sure that it was Noah’s father. Although she never saw a lot of him, he would go to the
Beckhams’ Mansion every Chinese New Year, and she always saw him on the news, so she wouldn’t
take him for someone else.”

Hayden’s clenched fingers turned cold. She could feel the coolness spreading across her body. She felt
like she couldn’t even think properly at that time.

It was really Joseph who had done this.

How could he even take advantage of a two-year-old child?

Looking at Hayden’s pale face, Benjamin was a little upset.

“Hayden, I think you do not need to think too badly of him. Maybe Joseph did not expect that this
incident would bring so much impact to Noah. I asked Teresa what kind of medicine she put inside the
milk powder at that time. She said that it was only some medicine powder that will promote Noah’s
health. She was afraid that the child would not be able to take the tonic so the dosage was very small.
So later, Noah only suffered from fever. As for his vocal cord damage, it was very strange as didn’t the
doctor also say that Noah’s vocal cord was intact. He just didn’t want to talk to others, maybe he was
frightened by somebody.”

Benjamin’s words did not give much comfort to Hayden. She still felt upset.



How cold-hearted Joseph had to be to take advantage of a two-year-old child who couldn’t even know
how to speak well as a weapon for his purpose in the business world. This was too horrible.

“No need to comfort me. I know what’s going on.”

She had been prepared for this when Benjamin had warned her last time.

It was late at night and the lights in the guest room had been switched off a long time ago. While
Benjamin, who had been rushing around for a day went straight to sleep in the guest room after taking
a shower. Meanwhile, Hayden was in Stella’s room. She was unable to fall asleep after a long time.

Looking at her daughter’s cute face when she slept, she felt guilty.

If she had been stronger back then, wouldn’t she have let Noah born in such a treacherous and
wealthy family like the Beckham family and be involved in such a mess?

In the darkness, a text message alert popped up with a ‘ding’ sound on Hayden’s phone. It was from
Edison.

“Alayna’s recovery is going well. We all are fine here. How about you? “

Looking at the text message, Hayden took a deep breath. Sitting cross-legged on the carpet, she
tapped the phone screen and texted him, “I’m fine here. I’ve thought about the matter of Noah. Can you
still contact the lawyer you told me before? I need to consult him about Noah’s custody.”

At first, she didn’t think of fighting for Noah’s custody with Joseph as she thought that after all, Joseph
had raised him up. She had no right to take away his custody from Joseph.

But now, it seemed that if Joseph could do the things back then, then he could do it a second time, not
to mention that it was indeed dangerous for Noah to stay with him.



Edison replied to her quickly. He sent her the contact information of the lawyer.

“Ask him first if you have anything to consult him. I’m going to Nanking next month. Make sure that you
have a good mood to meet me and talk. I’ll back you up when you need me.”
