you dinner and let’s shop together.”

materials and left the conference room unhappily.

Joseph was sitting alone in the conference room. The projection on the screen behind him had not

When his assistant, Magnus saw Kevin entered the room, they exchanged a look before silently
walking out.

There were only Joseph and Kevin left in the conference room.

“Your condition lately is normal.”

The sarcastic voice broke the cold and lonely silence.

Joseph raised his head and impatiently glanced at him, “Do you have nothing to do? Did you get the
plan of the proposal done?”

“Don’t be so busy taunting me. I have planned my affairs well. I know exactly what to do and when to
do it. How about you? You used to be so calm no matter what happened, to me, now it seems like
nothing has happened, why are you so panicked.”

“Panicked?”

Joseph frowned but did not deny his statement.

“Ever since the fire, you’ve been scolding the managers of various departments at every meeting. Don’t
tell me it’s just because they didn’t do their jobs properly, so they deserved it.”

Kevin pulled a chair and sat down casually, “Last time you were also like this right? After you met
Hayden, even if anything happened you liked her so much. However now when you are down, she isn’t
here to comfort you. Why are you like this now?”

Joseph thought that Kevin was just going to point out the fact that he was spending too much energy
on Hayden. But he didn’t expect him to hit the nail on the head and ask more detailed and specific
questions.

conclusion after a long time of consideration, tinged with Joseph’s self-doubt.

“Perhaps, we are not compatible.”

The probability of ambiguous words such as ‘perhaps’, ‘seems’, and ‘as if’ appearing in Kevin’s lexicon
was almost zero, as there was almost no grey area in his life. He lived with such clear boundaries that
even his family and friends could not get close to him.

After a long time, he finally couldn’t help but become furious. He slapped the table and cursed angrily,
saying, “Fuck, Joseph Beckham, I have known you for almost 30 years, but I have never seen you

asked me to get lost and never gave me a single chance. Only Hayden can make you change your
mind!”
