The online celebrity crossed her arms and plopped down onto the sofa. She uttered these words, “One

able to guarantee that your demands are met. What about this? We can switch rooms for you, and
about your compensation, I will apply for it with the general manager and give you a speedy reply.”

“Wait a minute.” The online celebrity lifted the corner of her mouth, “The one hundred thousand yuan is
the compensation for one cockroach I discovered just now, but in fact I saw two cockroaches in the
room. So the compensation will be two hundred thousand yuan.”

“Of course not. Jeff, arrange for a new and clean room for Ms. Harriet.”

Hayden dished out this instruction with a calm face, and she also had a professional smile hanging on
her face. After settling this matter, she dragged the housekeeping manager out of Room 1023.

“Are you crazy?” Once they returned to the office, the manager slammed the table with all of his fury
directed into his swing of the arm, “Hayden, the reason I summoned you is to help me solve this
problem, but your problem is that you have no problems approving of the guest’s demands no matter
how ridiculous it is? If that’s the case, the hotel doesn’t need to set up a contingency department since
money can solve all problems. We will be problem-free forever because we have a lot of money.”

Kelsey was older than Hayden by several years, and he had been working in the ST Hotel for some
time. He was always a calm and mild-tempered person, yet at this moment, it was as if all of his fuses
had blown. He was beyond furious.

Hayden had wrinkles on her forehead as she argued, “Kelsey, in my opinion, you can’t lump this matter
together with what we are facing normally. Seeing that the hundred-year anniversary celebration is
going to be held in our hotel, we can’t let anything out of the ordinary happen at this critical juncture.”

Kelsey naturally knew the importance of this. He was just slightly overcome with emotion. With a sigh,
he resigned himself to this decision, “Then what should we do about this matter? Let me be honest with
you, there is no way you will be able to get this two hundred thousand yuan compensation cost
approved.”

“I never intend to compensate her that amount in the first place.”

A dark shade cast over Hayden’s eyes, “I don’t think this incident is merely a coincidence. We need to
find out what is actually happening behind our back.”



After Kelsey had gone, Hayden’s assistant, Jeff came to Hayden with a file containing the data of the
hotel for this month.

“Ms. Downey, in the past two weeks, the bad comments our hotel has received are abnormally
numerous.”

“The room is filthy and messy.” She saw several comments of the same meaning, and then she saw
one that said, “There are cockroaches in the room.”

“Jeff, can you verify that is there nothing wrong with the hotel’s sanitary practices? All the employees
who are staying in the hotel and the cleaning staff, is there anyone who has seen a cockroach?”

“There isn’t any sanitary problem at all. I have gone to consult them the moment I saw these bad
comments, but nobody in the hotel had seen any cockroaches. What’s more, that guest was
anonymous, so we wouldn’t know which room is he referring to.” Jeff muttered under his breath with a
frown on his face.

“Previously, we have thought that those bad comments were written with ill-intentions, but little did we
know, something bad actually happened today. Some guest actually saw a cockroach, but why didn’t
we see any of those creatures?”

Hayden took a glance at the data and found that all of those bad comments were made by anonymous
accounts. At the same time, those comments were made in the same vein, mainly referring to the
tidiness and cleanliness of the rooms. Two of those comments talked about discovering cockroaches.

The more she thought about it, the more she felt that things were indeed very strange.

“Jeff, nobody has touched Room 1023, right?”



“Who dares to? Since you instructed us to preserve the condition and leave it untouched, we have
done just that. The section where the cockroach was found had all the furniture moved away. The room
is now locked.”

“Alright, then can you go over and fetch me the bodies of those dead cockroaches in a plastic bag?”

“Huh?” Jeff’s eyes widened as he muttered, “Me? I am afraid of cockroaches.”

Hayden shot a glance at him, “Or else, should I go get it myself? You are a big guy from the North, how
can you be afraid of mere cockroaches?”

“There isn’t any huge cockroaches in the North, unlike here. It is too scary.”

Jeff said with a vengeful expression on his face.

“Then, you don’t need to go. I will go instead.”

“Thank you, Ms. Downey.” Jeff immediately expressed his utmost gratitude.

Hayden swept her gaze at her and acted like she was getting up, “Since I can do everything by myself,
then I will inform the human resources department that I no longer need an assistant.”

“What?” Jeff’s face instantly turned pale. “You just stay here, Ms. Downey. I—I will go myself, will that
be enough?”

While staring at Jeff who looked like he was scared out of his wits even before actually laying eyes on a
cockroach, Hayden could only shake her head helplessly. Since when did men nowadays become so
timid?

Two dead cockroaches had been sealed in a plastic bag, and Hayden brought them to a laboratory in a
medical university nearby. She spent three hundred yuan to hire a master student to analyse the



cockroaches. The outcome was just as she had thought.

“Mr. Beckham, it seems that an incident has arisen in the ST Hotel.”

In a presidential suite of a five-star hotel in Shanghai, Magnus the assistant had just received a call and
he was reporting the situation about Nanking to Joseph.

Joseph was reading the contents of the contract, and upon hearing Magnus’ words, he raised his head
and asked, “What’s wrong?”

“Recently, the ST Hotel has been receiving bad comments especially on the website. It feels like
someone is harbouring ill-intentions to give the hotel a bad image. I heard that someone is creating a
ruckus in the hotel today.”

Joseph couldn’t help but frown, “Who is gutsy enough to oppose the ST Group?”

“It doesn’t seem like someone is opposing the entire ST Group. The comments on the website only
refer to a particular hotel in the city. It seems like Ms. Downey is going to have her hands full.”

When he heard the mention of “Ms. Downey”, Joseph’s eyes darkened a few shades.

From the time when they had an ambiguous scene in the changing room to the time when he was
boarding the plane, the whole journey was replayed in his mind. Despite that, he couldn’t find out the
reason he was so concerned with this woman.

“Mr. Beckham, should we help out Ms. Downey on this matter?” Magnus tried to gauge his boss’
thoughts.

position anymore.”

carried a laser light bag and approached the reception counter to check out of her room.

Hayden was fast on her feet as she arrived on the scene, “Ms. Harriet, are you checking out now after
staying for one night?”

“That’s right.” There was a smug look on her face.

“It is enough for me to stay in this hotel for one night, judging from its service. How long do you expect
me to stay?”

“No problem, then please help Ms. Harriet to go over the check-out procedure.”

Hayden glanced at the receptionist at the counter.

The internet celebrity watched the receptionist go over the procedure and return her deposit. She
