Chapter 250: We Can Finalize the Date

Hayden felt that Harrison was suspecting that she was stalking Joseph. She felt like she was wronged.

Hearing her words, Harrison’s face turned a bit pale. “You’re the one who asked for the break-up? Tell
me. What are the things that you think Joseph is not good enough?”

Hayden was stunned for a moment.

Mark immediately reminded Harrison, “Sir…”

Only then did Harrison regained his consciousness, he coughed and changed his tone, “It’s good that
you know what you should do.”

Hayden’s expression turned normal, “Stella still needs to have her lunch. I’ll bring her to leave here
first.”

“Wait a moment.”

Harrison stopped her.

“Since you’ve come to cook for Noah, you shouldn’t just leave after you’ve finished cooking for him. In
the Beckham family, the people who come to work will always be appreciated, not to mention that you
still have to come again in the evening, it’s too much trouble for you to go back and forth.”

“No need.” Hayden, however, felt that staying there was the trouble.

“If you don’t think anything weird, you can have a meal with us together, as a guest of the Beckham
family.”

Harrison’s voice was cold and intimidating as if it meant that Hayden was thinking something unkind if
she didn’t want to stay there to have a meal with them.



Frowning, Hayden hesitated for a moment. She thought that she would be able to meet Noah at the
dining table. Therefore, she agreed, “Since you said so, sir, it would seem like I’m being pretentious if I
don’t stay here to have a meal with you all.”

When she agreed, she did not think much about what Harrison’s intention was. It was only when she
arrived at the dining room and sat face to face with Addison that she understood Harrison’s intention of
asking her to stay there for lunch.

Harrison was trying to show her that Joseph already had a girlfriend and she shouldn’t approach him
anymore.

Hayden felt that his action was ridiculous and she looked at Addison who was sitting opposite her. She
smiled at Addison politely as a greeting.

“You two should know each other. The company Addison works for has worked with ST Hotel before.”

Harrison looked around at Both Hayden and Addison. When he looked at Addison, his look was
obviously much more loving.

Hayden felt that things in this world really changed very quickly. A few months ago, Harrison had said
that she would be the one who married Joseph. At that time, she didn’t even look at Addison. However,
at this time, he liked Addison so much compared to her.

She didn’t think too much about it. When she was lowering her head, Joseph brought Noah into the
dining room.

As Hayden was facing the entrance of the dining room with her back, so she could only guess the
people who came in by listening to the footsteps. When the maid greeted him, Joseph kept walking
forward. He stopped walking when he reached a certain position behind Hayden.



“Grandpa … why is she here?”

Of course, the question that Joseph asked was why Addison was there.

However, Harrison said, “After all, Ms. Downey came here to cook for Noah. Although she insisted on
leaving, I felt that this was not the way to treat the guests. Therefore, I asked her to stay here to have
lunch together. Joseph, come and sit.”

Hayden secretly clenched her fingers tightly. She felt really disappointed.

She knew that Joseph was going to get engaged to Addison, and she was still here to join them for
lunch. She must be crazy to do such things.

When she was so embarrassed until she wanted to dig a hole on the ground and vanish from it, she
didn’t notice that Joseph was standing behind her. Wrinkling his eyebrows, he asked, “Are you planning
to leave here straight away after cooking the dishes?”

Hayden turned around. She said with a muffled voice, “I’m just here to cook for Noah. It’s not
appropriate for me to stay here."

"Good." Joseph’s face turned gloomy, “It’s quite good.”

Hayden didn’t know what his words meant. She felt that he was a bit upset and perhaps she said
something wrong.

“Noah, come sit next to grandpa.” Harrison lovingly waved his hand at Noah.

“No,” Noah said firmly. He shook off Joseph’s hand which was holding his and walked straight to
Hayden. He used both his hands and legs to climb up the chair next to Hayden. Just like last time, he
sat on the right side of Hayden while Stella sat on the left side.



Harrison frowned, “Noah…”

“Let him do what he wants to do.” Joseph interrupted his words. He walked past Hayden and sat next
to Addison. Hayden was opposite him and they were only separated by only a few plates of dishes.

This made Hayden feel very awkward.

Hayden could only keep her head down the whole time. She was either taking the dishes for the two
kids or eating with her head down. She did not even have the courage to look up.

Of course, she could convince herself to let go of the past and distance herself from Joseph. However,
she felt really awkward seeing Joseph spending sweet time with Addison.

“Addison, come and eat this,” Harrison asked Addison to take the dishes.

Addison, however, didn’t say a lot of words today. She kept glancing at Joseph and Hayden. It seemed
like she wanted to say something but didn’t dare to say it at that time.

“Addison, last time your father came to play chess with me. He mentioned the engagement between
you and Joseph. I think the 23rd of the next month is a good date. Let’s ask the housekeeper to check
the weather that day. If there is no problem, we can finalize the date, so that both families will also feel
relieved.”

Harrison’s voice echoed throughout the dining room. Hayden felt that the atmosphere was suffocating
for a moment.

“Is it so urgent?”

Addison said with a rushed tone, “I don’t think we need to be in such a hurry. Joseph and I are just
starting to know each other more. We actually…”



“What do you mean you two are just starting to know each other more? You’ve known each other for
decades.”

Harrison directly interrupted his words. He said seriously, “Let’s just finalize the date.”

“Grandpa, Joseph hasn’t agreed yet. I think this may not be a good idea.”

“Why do I…” Before Harrison finished his words, he glanced at Hayden with a complicated expression.
He changed the words that he wanted to say, “Joseph, what do you think?”

Hayden was taking the dishes for Noah as if nothing had happened. But if one looked closely at her,
one could find that Hayden’s movement was stiff as if she was a robot, “Noah, eat this.”

Joseph stared at her for a moment. When he saw that she was oblivious to this matter, he suddenly
looked cold. His thin lips were slightly opened and his clear voice echoed throughout the restaurant, “I
don’t have a problem with that.”

When Hayden heard his words, she held her breath for a long time as if she could not exhale her
breath. She felt that her chest was stuffy as if being pressed by a thousand pounds of boulders.

He said he didn’t have a problem with that, so he was acquiescing in the marriage between him and
Addison.

Then who was the one who promised to her that he only treated Addison as his sister and they were
not a couple? Recalling his promise, she felt it was ridiculous.

“Stella, are you done?”

Hayden lowered her voice and asked in a soft voice.

“Yes, mummy. Let’s go home.”



Stella looked upset and she nodded her head. In fact, she hadn’t eaten much at all. She felt very angry
the moment she saw Mr. Beckham and Ms. Sanchez sitting next to each other.

Harrison was too bad to break his promise to her. She felt really annoyed with him.

Hayden patted Noah’s head and smiled faintly as if what had just happened had nothing to do with her.

“Sorry, my daughter is sleepy now. I have to take her home for a nap. Take your time.”
