Chapter 290 – It’s You That I Fell For

Hayden's words had peered Joseph as he cast an inquiring look on her.

“It's nothing, I just don't want to hear about that day again. You don't need to remind me of people who
aren’t important.”

Hayden lowered her head and explained it lightly.

She wasn’t afraid of Joseph believing what Michelle said about her sleeping with four to five men by
Chelsea six years ago. She was afraid that she would accidentally spill that she went into the wrong
room and slept with the wrong person.

If Joseph had pieced together what happened six years ago, there would be disastrous consequences.

Therefore, she just wanted this matter to quickly pass. The best would be for no one to talk about it
again.

Joseph misunderstood.

He furrowed his brows and stared at Hayden picking vegetables for a long time, his expression
becoming stronger.

After dinner, while Hayden was washing up in the bedroom, Joseph was on the balcony making a
phone call with Magnus, who was kept in a difficult spot, “Mr. Beckham, it had been six years, and

“Had you had honey today?”, Hayden tried to look back but was pressed against her forehead by
Joseph's chin, making her unable to see his expression.

“Hayden.”

Joseph was very gentle today. His usual low and cold tone had carried a sense of warmth, “It’s you
whom I fell for, regardless of what you had experienced or encountered would not affect my feelings for



you at all.”

Hayden was stunned for a moment, she was not stupid, there was a lot of underlying meaning to his
sentence when he said it.

Piecing the pieces together, it did not take much thinking to know that he had misunderstood her
however Hayden did not want to clear it up.

After a long silence, she asked, “Have you ever thought that everyone in the world carries a mask on
their face. What if I whom you face daily is simply just a mask?”.

“Why do you have something to hide from me?”, Joseph's tone was a downplay though he was telling a
joke.

However, Hayden knew that he wasn’t one to joke around.

“The truth is most often the hardest to accept. What if I am not who you think I am?”

“There’s no what if, you are the truest version of yourself.”

“So confident?”

“Genuity is your greatest strength. Apart from being true, in my eyes, you are useless.”

Before Hayden had the time to be happy, she was down-poured by his words. Indeed, a man like him
would never be a sweet talker. If you had mistakenly thought that he is, then beneath his sweet talk,
there would still contain other insults.

Hayden lowered her head for a while, bent her knees slightly, and then slammed up.

With a ‘boom’, someone rolled from the bed to the ground, making a painful muffled sound.



“Hayden, what are you doing?”

Joseph supported his waist and looked at the bed in hostility.

factory’s progress.

After the inspection of goods, Dante patted off the thread on his hand, “I have carefully checked this
batch of goods. There’s no problem with it. Most of the problematic ones had been stopped and
reworked. The last batch will be delivered to Joann Group's warehouse.”

“There are many finished goods stocked, let’s send them first.”

Hayden looked at the mountains of finished products piled up in the corner, “If you wait till the evening,
I'm afraid there wouldn’t be enough space here.”

“Why don't you send it to our warehouse first.”

Dante said sternly, “Before we send it off, I would like to have the team reconfirm it. It wouldn’t be good

agreement.

“Anyway,” Dante looked up from the order list and asked Hayden, “Anna called me earlier to let me
remind you about this evening dinner at Joann Group. Based on her tone, it seems like you don’t want
to go?”

“Franklin would be present.”

Hayden got angry once she mentioned to him, “Don't you know? Since we obtained Joann Group’s
order, I encounter him in every other dinner functions. He is flaunting how well he is doing in Nanking.”.

“What's the matter? He harassed you?”

“No.”, Hayden frowned. “I could just call the police if he had harassed me. He wants to talk about the
acquisition.”

“He wants to buy Green Lemon?”

“It's the entire Downey Group.”

Hayden frowned, "He has a big appetite. It seems that he is planning to accomplish some political
achievements to show Harrison, so he targeted the Downey Group."

“Nanking has a lot of medium-sized enterprises, and many are doing better than Downey Group. Why
does he have his eyes on it?”

Dante was puzzled.

“It should be related to Joseph.”

Hayden frowned deepen, “As you know, Joseph is now in charge of the finance department. Franklin is
